LEGO’s Super Mario theme collides with the popular botanical line with the reveal of 71426 Piranha Plant. The venerable enemy from the Mario games adds to an 18+ line-up that already includes Bowser, the Question Mark block, and the console on which Mario made his debut, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Piranha plant is considerably smaller than these, clocking in at 540 pieces and 23cm (9″) tall. Consequently it’s also considerably cheaper! 18+?! This is a set for babies! It’s more Duplo-like than many Duplo sets.

hntrains, proving once again to be the biggest baby on this site. That 18+ is a marketing category purely is ancient news that adult Lego fans have figured out by now. No one is claiming this set is complex, but if you can’t tell the difference between the intentional design that makes this look simple and clean, vs the basic blocks of Duplo, you betray that you lack the ability to discern what is beyond baby-level. Lastly, as no adult needs to be told, only babies beg to blast to the world that something they personally aren’t interested in is for babies.
You don’t have to like Mario. It’s probably after your time, after all. But if that’s the case, it might be time to grow up and learn how to communicate like an adult.
