LEGO starts a new pilot in UK testing existing products variants [News]

Today, September 1 LEGO is launching a new pilot project in the UK, offering existing products in new colors and sizes. Five new sets based on products released in past will be available from LEGO.com and selected retailers, like Tesco and Smyths. The new sets will be available through November 30, or while stocks last.

According to the official statement by LEGO,

The pilot has been designed to help us gain a better understanding of what our fans want from our portfolio and where they prefer to shop for new or unique products.

The pilot includes variations of some of our existing products, so we can find out more about the colors and sizes of sets that fans of all ages want to see more of in our portfolio.

First, LEGO explores the audience’s interest in popular building sets in various colors. Three new LEGO Creator products, a recolor of 10271 Fiat 500 and two versions of 31058 Mighty Dinosaurs from 2017 are being released today.

77940 Mighty Dinosaurs (Orange version) | 174 pcs | £12.99 | available from Smyths (UK/I) and LEGO stores and LEGO.com (UK)

77941 Mighty Dinosaurs (Blue version) | 174 pcs | £12.99 | available from Tesco (UK/I) and LEGO stores and LEGO.com (UK)

77942 Fiat 500 (Blue version) | 960 pcs | £74.99 | available from the Hut Group retailers (Zavvi.com and iwantoneofthose.com) and LEGO stores and LEGO.com (UK)

Additionally, LEGO tests the same toy concept in products of different sizes. Two new LEGO City fire station sets will appear on store shelves, with 77943 being a brand new medium-sized pay set, and 77944 being a remake of the older 60110 Fire Station set from 2016.

Only in the UK?! Booo! That first fire set looks like a great way to get an inexpensive garage door.

For British people at least. :(
