With the release of the LEGO Ideas 21313 Ship in a Bottle, many builders have taken a creative approach to using the transparent parts to create something unique. This build of a rose within a ‘glass dome’ is quite the exquisite and elegant idea executed by Chakhei Mok. He made sure to share a bit of his creative process – remember, Valentine’s Day is here, and if you’re behind time on your shopping list and have a Ship in a Bottle on hand, there’s still hope with elements that you have on hand to gift this gorgeous flower to your loved one!
The key parts to add to the ship’s bottle is the base and the corolla of the flower. The stem and foliage should not be too difficult. Optionally, the smaller bits could be left out if parts are not available.
The petals are made of two elements just overlapping each other, held by 2×2 wedge pieces of alternate left and right elements. Of course, they could easily be substituted for red, yellow, or your color of choice. It’s all held together with a parabolic ring. Since it’s mostly hidden, it won’t matter if you can’t find a white one in your stash of parts.
