No, Cole Blaq isn’t leaving the LEGO building community, or anything so dramatic. He’s just built a very ant-like mecha.
The proportions of this thing are right up my alley. The legs look over-sized enough to be heavily armored. The body looks continues the heavily armored look, giving the impression that conditions inside are rather cramped, perfect for a “tank.” Cole has also done a great job of building in some functional looking pistons and so forth on the inner legs.
I’m also aware that I keep blogging creations that are largely built of dark bley. I think it may be because I’ve had a dark bley creation of my own waiting to be photographed for about a week.
I’m in love. I’m a huge fan of ped tanks and this is by far my favorite. I love the tank crew styling and the interior details, little claws on the feet. There’s a great ballance between greebles and rounded armor surface.
way cool build. However, just because it has six legs doesn’t make it ant-like to me. Insects have segmented bodies and builds representing insects should also have segments to get the look right. This is just a badass Mech with six legs, not an Ant Mech :)
like (adj)
1. of the same form, appearance, kind, character, amount, etc.: I cannot remember a like instance.
2. corresponding or agreeing in general or in some noticeable respect; similar; analogous: drawing, painting, and like arts.
3. bearing resemblance.
I didn’t say that it was an “Ant Mech,” I said “ant-like.” Primarily, I was referring to the 6 legs, and their proportions, both to themselves and to the body. If you’re going to nit-pick, at least stick to the facts. ;)
fair enough :)
