This is not the page for LEGO purists. From heavily customized minifigures to LEGO pieces chopped, painted, and stickered to within an inch of their little plastic lives, this is where you’ll find some of the most creative uses — and abuses — of LEGO anywhere.

Sun Warrior Princess by fry_slayer

Classic-Castler and MCN member fry_slayer presents a very cool “Sun Warrior Princess” custom minifig (click for gallery on MCN):

Here’s a nice shot that shows off her cool face:

You can read a LEGO comic announcing the princess’s arrival in this thread on MCN Forums.

Pegasus Knight by Yours Truly

Well, here I am, tooting my own horn. This is my attempt at a custom fig for the Colossal Castle Contest 4. Virtually all of it is customized, only the wings and plume are unaltered Lego. It was definitely a fun build. Hope you enjoy it!

Check out the airborne gallery.

Colors of the Samurai by NickGreat

Cool enough to blog on a purist LEGO blog, customizer NickGreat’sColors of the Samurai” project is fantastic indeed.

Here’s Nick’s latest, the Black Samurai. I love all the kanji characters, the mask (a chopped-up Green Goblin mask), and the naginata spear:

Since I’m blogging his newest, I might as well blog his previous two samurai. Nick’s White Samurai has a shoulder decoration that also uses the Green Goblin head, and an excellent double-sword carrier thingie for her back:

Nick’s first color samurai was Red. I can’t get enough of that mask:

It’s okay because he calls them abominations...

My path to the dark side assured, let’s get a head-start on Halloween with some great “abominations” from self-described “evil mad scientist” Windell Oskay:

Windell has written up a nice article on How to hack LEDs into Lego minifigures for Halloween, as well as a second article on his many Lego Abominations.

Here’s a hilarious example titled “Squid King Fu”:

Be sure to check out the full photoset on Flickr.

Thanks for sending this in, Windell! You’re such a bad influence… ;-)

Otto the Awesome

Armothe recently posted a knight that is quite possibly the best custom fig I have seen yet. I give you Otto the Crusader!

The plethora of custom details is astounding, from the great helm to the barding, from the banner to the horse, virtually every detail is perfect.

As a finishing touch, Armothe has even given Otto a custom hairdo:

What an awesome fig!

An awesome pirate MOC!

Dandrew has posted a very impressive Pirate MOC on Brickshelf. It was displayed at Pirate Festival 2003:

The landscaping on the beach and cliff is very impressive, as well as the detail of the buildings. I also really liked the brick built trees and the custom sails on the smaller ship.

Check out the Brickshelf gallery!
