Some aliens might be good mainly for getting splatter kills, but others look like you might want to play a nice game of contract bridge with them instead. I like to think this mustachioed alien by Nathan Proudlove has the sophistication to represent the latter. Or he might just know Kung Fu and be more interested in kicking your butt. Who’s to say?

It gives me the jibblies
Seeking whom it may devour
This is ‘Skull’s Deamon’ and it has a rather freaky look to it, if you ask me, which you didn’t. David has achieved that unique look by building this monstrosity out of virtually nothing but Star Wars battle droid pieces. I think I’m going to have nightmares tonight.
LEGO Lava Dragon lights my fire
This is one that I’ve been meaning to post on here for a bit now. Finally got a fire lit under me, so here it is. Sean and Steph Mayo are quickly coming to forefront in the adult lego community and this one is just another feather in their collective cap. I could make a comment about my burning love for this creation but I’ll resist…somewhat.
LEGO dragon breathes real fire
After building a creation that uses real water, Aaron Amatnieks (akama1_lego) sets out to do what no one has ever done – to use fire in a Lego creation, and I’m not talking about flame pieces. Kids, don’t try this at home!

They’re eating the guests, sir.
George Panteleon’s piranhas may not actually be eating the guests but they look like they are capable of it. There is a lot to love in this viciously fishy build. This is one of those creations that makes me want to build it myself. I think I need some hanging about my desk to keep pesky co-workers away.
Enter the Scorpion!
Sean and Steph Mayo have issued giant scorpions to their minifigs. After all, why not? Everyone rides horses. If you want to make an entrance, nothing says “Look at me!” like a giant scorpion.
Brick-built Ostrich
This little ostrich, by Brick Monster, is adorable. I’m still amazed when a builder is able to make something so recognizable out of so few pieces. Well-played, sir!
Meet Pokey the Technic Triceratops
Remi can build dinosaurs, no question about it. I saw Pokey at BrickCon last year but these new pictures were just posted online. Pokey is even more awesome in person. Very awesome. You can see the entire set here, including BrickCon pictures.
(My apologies to Alyse if she built Pokey. The tags said “Remi” so I went with that.)
Slow and Steady
This whimsical build by Pino came out a couple of weeks ago, but I missed it. I have to say it is one of the most fun creations that I’ve seen recently. The snail is perfect. I love the house built around the outside of the shell and the bait, keeping the snail on the run, cracked me up. Yes, it appears that the bait is non-Lego (unless I’m mistaken) but would you really want to keep a snail that ate Lego?
The road to Olan Mills is paved with good intentions.
Some people say that they don’t really like pets. I say they just haven’t found the right animal yet. But once you do find that special beastie, drag it in to the professional photography studio to capture the moment! rong YIREN inflicts a particularly nasty kind of purgatory on this girl and her cuddly pet.
Ent Misbehavin’
Hideous puns aside these Ents by Shannon Sproule (Shannon Ocean) are brilliant. Apparently you’d know this if you were at Brickworld 2011.
