With the largest LEGO Star Wars playset soon hitting shelves (and wallets), we thought it would be a prime opportunity to review some of the best location builds from around the MOC galaxy. The Star Wars community is no stranger to incredible landscapes and structures, and these are some of the best that the Holonet has to offer. Whether you’re a Republic loyalist, a Rebel freedom-fighter, or sympathetic to The Resistance, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.
Where better to start than where it all began? Our first stop is Naboo, where interstellar_bricks shows off a stunning recreation of the Duel of the Fates. The giant beam pillars here are as imposing as they are in The Phantom Menace, making this a perfect location for a Hero Showdown match in Star Wars Battlefront II.
Our next stop is Teal Tower, a presumably fictional location from builder Tim Goddard. The colors and shaping are exceptional here, and it looks like a perfect hideaway for someone that would prefer to avoid any Imperial entanglements.
We’ve heard of Dantooine before, but not yet seen it in the era of The Old Republic. oblivion_builder offers a look at the conflict between the Sith Empire and The Old Republic on this remote planet long before the Rebellion ever established operations here.
Journey next to the Hills of Aldhani, where Cassian (or is it Clem?) and Vel make the long trek to reach their camp. 52ndstreetbricks created this stunning landscape and rockwork that perfectly captures the hillsides of this remote planet. We hear the valley is great for Tie Fighter acoustics.
In our trip into the Sequels era, starmaks_official imagines what it would be like if The First Order returned to establish a presence on Takodana after the fateful events of The Force Awakens. Much like Darth Vader building his castle on Mustafar, we can imagine Kylo spending time on the planet where he confronted his father.
On the ice world of Orto Plutonia, Rilbist reveals a hidden ISB laboratory that has been discovered by a crew of Rebels. We love the many layers of snow here and the contrast with the rigid Imperial architecture. What is the ISB doing so far out here, and what could they possibly have hidden deep within this lab?
Alright, the wait is over: Here are the Clone Troopers. Hypolite Bricks has a Clone Base for you that shows the 501st Legion in another unsurprising skirmish. We’re not exactly sure which planet we’re located on, but it looks like this scene could have been plucked out of almost any epic arc of The Clone Wars. For the Republic!
Our next stop is Toshara, where Cube Brick shows an Imperial Outpost under attack from an infamous Outlaw. Zoom in to see all of the perfect details, including Nix the merquaal effectively sabotaging a Stormtrooper. We’ve unfortunately seen Kay Vess attempt this many times before, and we know how it ends if she can’t clear her Wanted status.
It’s time we took a break to unwind from all of this conflict and despair in the galaxy. Tucked away in the clouds of Bespin, dewback_bricks offers safe refuge in Cloud City with some wonderful circular shaping and a pristine finish. The only downside is that there’s unfortunately a heightened Imperial presence here of late.
In a journey back to the world of Andor, smallfrost314 recreates Rix Road on Ferrix, the spot where it all began for Cassian and this Emmy Award winning story. All of the little details to show each of the titular characters in their respective spaces makes this build especially fantastic.
Our penultimate hyperspace hop is to the Massassi Temple on Yavin IV, where rajtozaur shares a version of the temple for an RPB collab. The shaping and vegetation used to recreate this rundown temple is lovely, and we only wish that Luthen had been around to see it one day.
Back to Naboo, why not? Our final stop is Theed Palace, an expert thrawnbuilds and devoureroflego collab creation with so much nice part usage and unique build techniques that it’s difficult to take your eyes off of it. The architecture of Naboo and Theed is one of the most beautiful aesthetics in the Star Wars universe, and we can’t think of any better place to end our trip.
Thanks to all of the aforementioned builders for sharing these wonderful creations, and thanks for joining us on this tour of the Star Wars Galaxy!
