What better way to celebrate the long-awaited release of Hollow Knight: Silksong than with new MOCs from an amazing LEGO artist? Joss Ivanwood (jayfa_mocs) shared a new character build from the first Hollow Knight game in the 4 days of September leading up to the release of Silksong and we’ve wrangled them all for you to enjoy.
For day 1 Joss shared the player character The Knight, as well as his alternate persona: The Knight’s Shade.
The scale is lovely (especially in context with the other character builds), and the cape usage captures his flowing movement perfectly. I especially love the intentionality of using just two pieces to represent his iconic Nail.
Day 2 saw the release of Cornifer, my personal favorite of the group. The shaping, posing, and presentation of the build looks like it was taken straight out of the game. My favorite details are the strap that’s strung around his shoulder, the rolled maps in his backpack, and the way the pages of his map book are sprawled out over his legs.
On Day 3, we met the wandering swordsman Quirrel. Those that played Hollow Knight will remember running into Quirrel at several points in different locations throughout the game, and he’s represented perfectly here. His slouch and the curled shape of his body are iconic features, and Monomon’s mask resting atop his head caps it off.
Today, Joss fittingly shared the fourth and final build: Hornet. A fan favorite from the first game, she is now the star and player character for Silksong. Once again, her flowy form is captured perfectly here in LEGO. Joss shared that he used capes from the Dungeons and Dragons CMF Szass Tam minifig to represent her dress, and cut out official LEGO sticker sheets to represent her eyes. It certainly looks like he took Hornet’s advice to “git gud” to heart.
Finally, Joss shared an ensemble shot of the entire crew. Happy Silksong Day!
