With LEGO Star Wars celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, May the 4th was always likely to be a big day for the theme. Today, LEGO has announced their plans for Star Wars Day, including a livestream event, a host of new sets, and some collectible memorabilia. The headline announcement is 75382 TIE Interceptor, which will be the next entry in the Ultimate Collector Series. With 1.931 pieces, it will retail for US $229.99 | CAN $299.99 | UK £199.99, and will be available from May 4th, with LEGO Insiders getting early access from May 1st.

Also arriving from the 1st of May are three Gifts with Purchase, availability of which will be through to May 5th or until stocks last. The main attraction here is 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier, which has a spend threshold of US $160 | CAN $TBD | UK £145 or more. The celebrations continue with a livestream event on May 4th, a 25-second film festival, and a coffee-table book entitled ‘The Force of Creativity’, pre-orders for which open on May 1st. Joining the aforementioned Troop Carrier as GWPs are a miniature AAT and a collectible medallion depicting Darth Vader’s cockpit view during the Battle of Yavin, the latter being exclusively available for LEGO Insiders. The respective spending thresholds for these are US $40 | CAN $TBD | UK £35 and US $90 | CAN $TBD | UK £80.

LEGO’s livestream event will take place on May 1st at 5PM PT/7:30PM GMT/6:30PM CET, where special offers, set reveals and a chance to win some goodies are all on the agenda. In the US and the UK, viewers will have a chance to win a signed copy of the new UCS TIE Interceptor, while in Germany the prize is one of 15 €100 LEGO gift cards.

May 1st also sees pre-orders open for ‘The Force of Creativity’, a coffee-table book celebrating the LEGO Star Wars theme. Behind-the-scenes development art and character designs from both LEGO and Lucasfilm will be included in the 312-page hardback book. The book itself will launch worldwide on July 2oth, and will set you back US $149.99 | CAN $TBD | UK £129.99.

Finally, on May 4th, the entries to LEGO’s 25-second film festival will be published on YouTube, kicking off the festival proper. Entries are open from April 22nd, and fans are invited to submit short clips of their favourite Star Wars moments – or new ones – created using their own LEGO collection.

Billund, April 15, 2024: As celebrations for the LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary continue throughout the year, fans should hold on tight to their TIE Interceptors as a lot of exciting things are happening. May the 4th be with you!

New 25th anniversary products are coming for May the 4th:

The TIE Interceptor building set that was part of the first launch of the Ultimate Collector Series in 2000 is back in a new and redesigned version. Admirers of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™ can relive the action of the movie, as they recreate the distinctive wings, detailed cockpit, and laser cannons of the magnificent LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor™ building set.

The 1,931-piece set is an impressive 40 centimeters/16 inches long and comes complete with an exclusive TIE Pilot minifigure and Mouse Droid figure, currently limited to this set. The model is mounted on a stand with a printed plaque and includes a printed brick (3.2 centimeters/ 1.3 inches wide, 0.8 centimeters/ 0.3 inches long and 3.2 centimeters/ 1.3 inches high) with the LEGO Star Wars anniversary logo.

Fans of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace™ can dive into building a dynamic snapshot of Tatooine with the Mos Espa Podrace™ Diorama building set. The 718-piece display set includes Anakin Skywalker, the Arch Canyon and a plaque with Qui-Gon Jinn’s advice: “Remember. Concentrate on the moment. Feel. Don’t think. Use your instincts.”

For those who have already ventured to the dark side, the 640-piece Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator™ building set could be ideal. Fans can fold out the wings and retract the landing gear for flight, fire the 2 spring-loaded shooters and press the trigger to drop 3 DRK-1 probe droids from the front compartment.

Alternatively, fans can check out the brick-built destroyer droid, Droideka™ set with 583 pieces.
