LEGO Space Collectible Minifigure series revealed [News]

Thanks to UK LEGO retailer The Minifigure Store, we’ve been treated to our first look at the next Collectible Minifigure (CMF) series. 71046 Minifigures Space Series 26 is the latest LEGO offering to bear the ‘Space’ banner, and as you might have guessed, the series is fully Space-themed. There’s a mixture of new designs and references to classic LEGO Space themes, such as M-Tron or Ice Planet 2002. Availability starts from May 1st, and while there is no official word on RRP, we expect it will follow the usual CMF pricing of US $4.99 | CAN $5.99 | UK £3.49.

We don’t have individual pictures of the figures yet, either – but you can see them in more detail after the jump.

Is it some sort of photoshop error, or does that cyborg one (bottom row, 3rd from the right) have a double arm?

Absolutely baffled by the sheer randomness of this one. Some of these are cool, sure, but… my brain hurts.

The mutant Blacktron has the double arm first used for the Stitch minifigure last year.

This is a nice, eclectic mix of serious and comical characters. Something for everybody who likes minifigures and science fiction. The alien in disguise and robot in disguise will add a touch of humour to any Lego City model set on contemporary Earth, as might the UFO alien, as he looks to be a man in a fancy dress costume rather than an actual extraterrestrial. The insectoid alien, Ice Planet miner, B9 style robot, android space nurse, Orion and modern astronaut will make welcome additions to the current Lego City Space sets. (The robot and android nurse don’t need oxygen and can rescue injured astronauts). The Space Woman, M-Tron and Blacktron are somewhere in between, in a classic sci-fi world of their own!

Come to think of it, where is the brain alien I confidently predicted last year? The popcorn costume headpiece could easily be reworked to become an alien brain creature in space armour.
