Oh please. You’re making this way too easy– anyone else notice the string of way-too-easy FNFs lately? That Simpsons one, the most recent bike one… I can’t think of any others off the top of my head, but you and I both know that there needs to be more effort put into making these matches more even.
Anyway, this is an easy win for the white. Blue has some inspired parts use but also some frankly uninspired parts use (see the arms?) and overall feels like a nice, if clunky little tablescrap. Still way, way nicer than *my* tablescraps, but pales in comparison to the robust, twisted wickedness of the white corner. In all honesty I knew my vote as soon as I saw those guys’ legs. Simply… very.
Maybe putting the weaker build first would even things up a tad… But after seeing the beasts _TrampleS_ served up it’s a bit hard to even look at the ACP.

I’m going to have to vote for Chris too. While Ilya’s bots are fantastically done, the general lines are something we’ve seen before. The proportions of Chris’s build I personally find novel and interesting, and that Technic helmet seals the deal for me.

I kind of agree with anonymous bob. Although you’ll (almost) always get votes for both, the Space Marine bots are intricate and just awesome; Llya T. definitely deserves kudos for doing them (as far as I can tell) entirely with legal techniques!

I vote for white corner., though both are very nicely built in my opinion.

UNRELATED: apologies for this very self-promotional message… but I have started a LEGO blog of my own at http://www.brickology.blogspot.com, and would appreciate it if anyone checks it out! :)

@anonymous bob – I will admit some of the bouts haven’t been as ‘even’ as I would have liked – though this is product of my own unofficial rules for FNF –
    1) Two recent builds (preferably in the last week)
    2) Nothing that are currently engaged in contests – as I don’t want to skew results
    3) Two similar subject matters that make sense :P

So if there have been times when there haven’t been two outstanding contenders – don’t blame me! Blame builders – people need to build more of the same thing! (Or feel free to make suggestions !)

Joking aside, I think you have a valid point and I will look at fighting older stuff that are’t as ‘recent’ to give it more interesting match, though I (and 4 others apparently) did think that Chris had a very clean and stylish build – to each their own.

Though I should also point out I actually put considerable efforts finding good fights – I actually timed myself tonight and I’m up to 1:42 hours to find the two rifles, and based on last week’s post time, I spent equal if not more time agonizing over the two best contestants.
