Simplify, then add lightness

Colin Chapman, the founder of the British car manufacturer Lotus, famously expressed his car building philosophy as: “Simplify, then add lightness.” There’s nothing simple about the Lotus Exige built by Rolands Kirpis (rolic), but in all its eye-popping lime greenness, the model beautifully matches the shape and look of the real car.

I don’t think there are many LEGO car builders who can make curves quite like these.

I had no idea there were so many different parts in lime green. It’s like they were all produced so they could end up in this exact configuration. Total LEGO car awesomeness.

Very nice build. Though it looks like it could fall apart the minute you touch it judging the other photo’s on Flickr. Are alle connections and SNOTS sturdy enough to hold the model together or does it need a sign “do not touch”? ;-)

^^I think that’s one of the things that shows just how good this model is. I can imagine that non-AFOL might not even appreciate how difficult it is to combine all these parts in this manner.

The base looks pretty sturdy to me, but I suspect that some of the connections are a bit flimsy.
