Cyber Monday LEGO deals from Amazon.com

We weren’t especially impressed with the selection of Black Friday deals on LEGO last week, but Amazon.com is making up for it a bit with some pretty good deals on LEGO today, “Cyber Monday” (when many people buy online for the holidays).

Overall, there’s 20% off select LEGO, but some of the best deals are on items normally excluded from other sales, like LEGO Star Wars and MINDSTORMS NXT.

Head on over to Amazon.com to check out the deals.

I’m so glad I got the jungle cutter last year for $15. :)

Sadly, now that I think about it, i don’t have any classic Indy sets, only the new crap one.

These guys are scam-artists. If you can find it and it’s not sold out, go ahead but don’t expect it anytime soon. And good luck with their customer service. If it’s something you absolutely have to have, shop elsewhere. Last year they advertised Green Grocer for US$112, so I pounced on this. This was Amazon, not one of the affiliate stores. I ordered it on Dec 12. It was listed as in stock, and was also in stock pretty much everywhere including S@H and the local Lego Store.

On Feb 3, I received a notice that “Though we had expected to be able to send this item to you, we’ve since found that it is not available from any of our sources at this time. We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you.

We must also apologize for the length of time it has taken us to reach this conclusion. Until recently, we had still hoped to obtain this item for you.

We have cancelled this item from your order.”

I didn’t order anything else at the time, and I figure this was just a come-on to get you to buy other stuff as well. I quite frankly didn’t expect them to honor this. This is not the first time I’ve been screwed by Amazon (nor is it the most egregious case) and I for one have sworn to spread the word of their unethical practices whenever possible. Caveat Emptor.

^ Wow. For what it’s worth, I’ve been buying from Amazon for nearly 15 years, and I’ve never had anything close to that kind of experience. It’s happened from LEGO Shop @ Home (only once), but not Amazon…
