Oh no… now LEGO is really milking it!

I can see in another 18 months they will come out with…. LEGO Star Wars 4: The Clone Wars 2! for the next couple seasons of the show.

I guess it was the next logical step, given that kids love the Lego console games, and the Clone Wars spin-off is aimed specifically at kids. But not mine. Videogames are the work of satan! :D

I agree that this is milking it more than should be. But there are some cool features.

“The game will feature brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields. Play either as a Jedi or Separatist with all-new character abilities, such as Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups, all within a new, easy-to-navigate hub.”

If people buy it, play it, and/or enjoy it, that’s fine by me.

But near as I can tell, TT has been making the same game over and over. It sounds like there are some extra bells and whistles in this version – maybe they’ll make something actually different. Regardless, I won’t be buying it, although I wish it all the best and hope that the people who do buy it have fun.

I’ve been playing Lego Batman recently, and it is very different from Lego Star Wars 1. So the accusation that they are making the same game over and over again might not be fair. Even if it is strikingly similar, though, it will still be fun, I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve played so far. I look forward to playing this game 5 years from now when I finally upgrade to a PS3.

    Hey Andrew & TBB,

I just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve used this as a news source for a frontpage article over @ the Bulgarian LUG forum (www.lebgo.org). I do hope you don’t mind me doing so – in case there’s any problem with that, just let me know and I’ll take it down ASAP.
    Thanks!

    Cheers,
    Bobby
