I’ve been making minifigs of my favorite musicians, bands, and composers for a couple of years now, quietly uploading their pictures to a Brickshelf folder. I’ve featured a couple of them here on DB, but I just uploaded all of them to a Flickr photoset, so I thought I’d highlight a few of my personal favorites.

Cerebrus
Name: Cerebrus
Mission: Building ingenious mechanical minions to do his evil bidding.
Origin: Cut off his own head, put his brain in a jar, and attached his brain-jar to a robot body he built himself.
Evil superpowers: None.
The Broccoli Avenger
Secret identity: The Brocolli Avenger
Real name: Brocco D’Arrigo
Mission: Making sure children (and presidents) eat their broccoli.
Superpowers: Impervious to cancer, super vision, unbreakable bones, immune to diseases. All that, plus the ability to make steamed veggies taste like chocolate.
Akuryo
Name: Akuryo
Mission: Inspiring the evil in every person’s heart.
Origin: Unknown.
Evil superpowers: Telepathy, teleportation, summoning darkness.
Sonoko Sugihara
Name: Sonoko Sugihara
Mission: Protecting the children of Kurohime village from evildoers.
Superpowers: Telekinesis, plus all the gadgets her genius father, the famed Dr. Sugihara, can invent (like this jetpack).
Notes: Sonoko is based on Moko’s schoolgirls. I liked them so much I gave one of them a jetpack.
Ikkyu
Name: Ikkyu (一休 いっきゅう)
Dates: 1394-1481
Biography: Ikkyu was a Buddhist priest during the Muromachi period in Japanese history. Ikkyu was a poet and calligrapher, and he is credited with contributing to the tradition of the tea ceremony. He is also remembered as a mischievous boy (as shown in the animated TV series “Ikkyu-san”) and a bit of a libertine.

Tintin Minifigs by Tupperfan
Brickshelf user Tupperfan (whose hilarious earbud Afro I featured previously) has been posting a lot of minifigs recently, so I thought I’d highlight my favorite group — a series of minifigs based on the classic Tintin comic books by Hergé (Georges Rémi):

Origin: Agricultural accident.
Evil superpowers: Summoning flame sprites to do his bidding; controlling vines and creepers; animating Jack o’ Lanterns.
Unit Zero One
Name: Unit Zero One
Mission: Defending Antarctica from alien attack.
Origin: Classified U.N. weapons research project.
Superpowers Robot strength, shields, interchangeable weapon pods, multi-spectrum vision.
