Hollow Knight: Silksong is the rare game that delivers on the hype, blending beautiful worldbuilding with brutal difficulty. Protagonist Hornet and the bug-like denizens of Pharloom have inspired an outpouring of fan models from the LEGO community. Here are some of our favorites!
Fresh off his incredible series of Hollow Knight builds, Joss Ivanwood begins climbing Pharloom with a series of encounters. First, Hornet encounters Shakra, the mapmaker. She’s a lot tougher than Cornifer!
My favorite of Joss’ new builds is Sherma, just a little guy on a big pilgrimage! The party hat in golld makes a perfect miniature chime.
And then there’s Lace, a fencer spun from silk. Joss captures the spindly en-garde pose perfectly with a bent tube.
Redverse built a version of Lace at a larger scale. The head shaping and posing is spot-on, but my favorite part might be the golden base.
Redverse created their own spin on Hornet in the same scale. The brick-built red robes are quite effective and the needle weapon is one of the best versions I’ve seen.
Redverse’s masterpiece, however, has to be the Bell Beast, the boss-turned-fast-transport creature. The builder even made a smaller version of Hornet to capture the beast being ridden.
Dylan Mievis gets in on the game with a depiction of best character Sherma.
Last year, Miscellanabuilds created a version of Shakra based only on the tease in the announcement trailer, making this one of the first Silksong LEGO tributes around. I like the broom element as a map.
Jamie Thul created Hornet and Shakra in miniature. I like the use of antennae for Shakra’s thin arms.
penguinsandplastic recreates Hornet’s boss battle encounter with the Fourth Chorus.
Now we come to the all Hornet section of the roundup! First, here’s Łukasz Alagierski‘s take. I love the pointy horns and the loose pebbles on the base.
Christian (fall_in_bricks) creates a ripped version of Hornet with brawler’s body instead of the nimble frame from the game. It’s great to see builder’s re-interpreting the character as well as recreating.
Tung Man Chun finds fun solutions for Hornet’s cloak, incorporating the fern leaf piece.
Zakar.ion‘s take is smaller than the builder’s usual models, but every big as dynamic.
PriXard uses a Strange part for Hornet’s cloak.
ASortaOkayBuilder also uses the Dr. Strange cloak, pairing it with cloth. I really like how the builder creates a cohesive miniature character that evokes hornet without trying to match the lines exactly.
Dan Ko created a hornet for “Shelltember” using a red clamshell as the hem of the character’s cloak. If you like this model, Dan share’s the free Hornet instructions here.
Finally, Teckbricks shows that there’s no feat of athleticism that Hornet can’t handle!
