Looks like meat’s back on the menu: 19 custom LEGO orcs [Minifig Monday]

From Tolkien to Warhammer and everything in between, orcs are the biggest, baddest, and often funniest fantasy baddies of any setting they appear in. This week we’ve put together a horrendous horde of LEGO orcs from the custom community. You’ll find more than a few surprises in this one!

A king of cohesion, capt.dark.shark unleashes Commander Kragg the Cleaver. There’s so much to love here, the new(ish) Viking helmet fits so flush with the CMF Orc jaw, while pushing the ears out to make a unique head shape. The oversized olive green arm is actually from Jabba the Hutt, and sticking an axe on the end of a prosthetic is delightfully impractical as it is fiendishly orcish.

Lessor in the orc kingdoms but certainly not in the minifig world, these night goblins from Karp_brick have some excellent black cape layering and subtle diversity in the heads and headwear. We’ve spotted faces from the CMF Goblin, Star Wars Niamoidian and a Ninjago orc.

Older bigfigs are famous for lack of customisation options, but dwalinforkbeard has expertly used black capes to cover a more scifi torso to create something that is right at home in a medieval fantasy setting. Add that to the whimsical mushroom picking vibe and you’ve got a great looking orc dude.

Taming behemoths is a great way to prove you’re top dog in Orc culture. Dwarvenbricks has created orc captain skull crusher using dark orange Lord of The Rings parts with a matching Triceratops mount. The chain reins are awesome but my favourite part is the custom saddle build that incorporates a trophy cage for bones.

Grisly, even by orc standards, 2p.figs ‘s scalper orc makes great use of a new head and arm print from Ninjago’s Forbidden Five villains and is surrounded by a bunch of extra minifig hairs for scalp trophies. We also love the inclusion of the hard to find headband from Jabba’s Sail Barge.

Ghur’zaak, Chieftain of the Red Mane Hoard is the latest orc from haon.brx with great use of dark red capes and cool concept consistency showcased with that rare red plumed helmet from the ‘The Hobbit’ wave and a matching red plumed from the CMF Roman atop his axe build.

Not all orcs live for the heat of battle. Phiphibricks‘s Battle Barber Barbarto makes sure the boyz iz looking their best for the next waarrghh with this glorious mobile barber setup with some giant scissors made from LEGO machetes. Don’t be surprised if he takes a little too much off the top of you know what we mean.

Sometimes nice part usage is about unusual combinations, other times it is about showcasing parts that most of us never knew existed. May we present… the Duplo crossbow. Sobek_bricks has made this superb troll ranger with the Duplo weapon and assembled a whole quiver of giant bolts to match (using spears and white minifig hands for fletching.

Turning up the heat, Taohe_netrus_mocs has shared this outrageous flame thrower build with barrels for oil kegs and a top build for the throwers themselves.

From hot to cold, bam.bricks_customs graces the scene with perhaps the first Glacier Orc. With nice use of the increasingly available trans-blue arms and his signiture cyborg style, we’d rather get frostbite than bump into this guy.

Inspired by Bloodbowl, Warhammer 40K’s odd American football spinoff, brick_corps brings us another brilliant big fig, this time using parts from the CMF rugby and football players. Their killer strategy…? Big orc throws little orc throws ball. Think of the distance!

Another Warhammer 40K inspired green guy. This time sporting a brick-built cyborg arm with nasty claws made from sand blue horns that were new to to recent Boogeyman CMF. Expansionbricks also included a mean little squig.

Minifigurebuilds delivers a kitted out duo with custom helmet and weapons. We were stoked to see a Chima crocodile head used under the cyclops mask to make the eye way more deranged than the original.

Certainly the most serene of the bunch, this half-orc druid from motherofcatdragons caught our eye for its collection of fury friends, nice use of the CMF Gamora arms, and the alway lovely Princess Leia hair mould.

sven_h4ze brings a particularly flashy boss, adorned with various skull sizes, great rubber band usage and one of our favourite parts – the chrome-gold ring.

Another female feind, asortaokaybuilder has shared this orc butcher with a crazy custom backpack filled with who knows what kinds of meat. We’re also pretty sure that that white bar piece connecting the severed chicken head to the orc’s hand is meant to simulate exposed bone… Golly!

One of Dragonbartley‘s many orcs, this fig repurposes medusa parts to make a lady orc with a gnarly custom spiked whip, and nice ornamentation coming from the two dark red fans on her back.

One more trophy hunter, thelegomatic ‘s lavender orc is heavily adorned with human and animal bones alike. Making creative use of the large Nexo-knight torso and brick-built arms, this orc is packing some serious muscle.

Our last bigfig of the bunch, K2_kilo‘s big boss is absolutely packed with killer robot prosthetics. Hero Factory claws, a dual canon hand and even a tailored pair of spiked kicks. It no mystery why they call him boss.

That’s all we’ve got for this week’s green tide. If you enjoy Minifig Mondays, please give a follow to the creators featured and send them a kind word.
