#10. LEGO Mindstorms 51515 Robot Inventor

Sliding in at number 10, the long-awaited refresh of Technic Mindstorms. The jury is still out on whether this is a winner, with several favourite features missing, but gaining a few more modern connectivity options such as Bluetooth. The answer is really to move on and grow with the new system as there’s no looking back from the march of progress.

#09. 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System

Number nine is a blast from the past, tugging at all the right heartstrings (and wallets) of fans of LEGO with the Nintendo Entertainment System. The choice is pretty binary — you either grew up with one of these, or you didn’t. I’m guessing that most of you did out there and that’s how it got into this shortlist.

#08. 10273 Haunted House from the Fairground Collection

A unique play system with a great theme highlighting all things scary is a great combination, or so it seems. Lurking at number 8, looks like the tried and tested approach of modular-style building wins our readers’ hearts.

#07. LEGO Star Wars 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina

Any list would not be complete without something-something Star Wars in it. Hyperjumping into the number 7 spot is the Master Builder Series depicting the place where all scum and villainy thrive — none other than the Mos Eisley Cantina scene from the moment when Star Wars launched into the bazillion-dollar franchise that’s still going strong today.

#06. LEGO Technic 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey

It’s quite possible that this set would not have even made our top 10 list had the set not been cancelled due to furious protests by LEGO fans who pointed out the incompatibility of LEGO’s “no military” policy and a set depicting a vehicle only used by the military. However, the set was already in some stores, and we managed to snag a copy of this American military vehicle in Moscow, Russia. The fact that nearly all copies of the set had been pulled from store shelves meant that very few people could get their hands on it themselves, making our review a vicarious way to experience this incredibly rare set.

If you’d still like to have the feel of a packaged set, it’s available on the secondary market on eBay at prices ranging between USD $700 and $1500 (at the time of this writing). If that’s too rich for you, remember that LEGO is a flexible system, and you may be able to find all the necessary parts to build your own LEGO Technic Osprey!

#05. LEGO 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37

Speeding into the Top 5 is the supercar series that never fails to turn our heads in beauty and raw power. Not without its own set of controversies of colour consistency, it is still a great set that deserves to be in the top spot in this list.

While not as dear as the actual thing, the LEGO miniaturised version will set you back a bit with retail prices of US $379.99 | CAN $489.99 | UK £349.99

04. LEGO Star Wars 75292 The Razor Crest

Exploding into the number 4 spot in our list is the preferred transport of the man with no face (almost) — Din Djarin’s Razor Crest. Under normal circumstances, a set like this might not make our annual top 10 list, except for a monumental event that played out in the penultimate episode of the second season of The Mandalorian. Views of our review skyrocketed months after the set’s release, and weeks after we published the review.

03. LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71028 Harry Potter Series 2

It’s only a matter of time before we see Collectible Minifigures (CMF) in our annual list of the most popular reviews. Coming in at number 3 is the second series of Harry Potter minifigures, following the very successful first series that topped our most read reviews in 2018.

Going strong and now into its 20th release, the more general Collectible Minifigure series has and continues to be fan favourites, coming in as the second-most-read review on The Brothers Brick in 2020.

01. LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay

A LEGO Ideas set taking the top spot in our list says a lot about the theme of the set. This is the closest a LEGO fan can get to a revival of the classic Pirates theme of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. It’s definitely a LEGO set that deserving to take the top spot, as “voted” by you our readers through your views of this article. It’s loud and clear (*wink* *wink* LEGO!) that the LEGO Pirates theme is held near, dear and not forgotten — something that fans would rejoice for a revival in a heartbeat.
