LEGO reveals 7 new Star Wars sets for late summer 2020 including Galaxy’s Edge and upcoming 2020 advent calendar [News]

LEGO has revealed seven new Star Wars sets based on everything across the galaxy including the films, television shows, a visual dictionary, and even Disney’s theme park land, Galaxy’s Edge. The sets include two brand new ships, multiple desirable minifigures, a few refreshed models, and the 2020 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar. (Spoiler alert: we’ve included photos of the Advent behind the jump at the far end of this article.)

The seven new sets join four other upcoming LEGO Star Wars models already announced earlier this year, including 75288 AT-AT, 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers, 75292 The Razor Crest and 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child BrickHeadz. All these new sets should be available globally starting Sept. 1st.

75281 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor | 248 pieces

First up, we have Anakin’s yellow Jedi Interceptor from Revenge of the Sith. The set comes with minifigures of Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2 and appears to be an updated version of 75038 Jedi Interceptor released six years ago. The newest model is refreshed with modern elements and tiles, though the overall profile is nearly identical.

Young Jedi can role-play Anakin Skywalker launching into battle piloting Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor (75281) with this action-packed LEGO Star Wars set. This brick-built toy has lots of features to inspire creative play, including an opening LEGO minifigure cockpit, spring-loaded shooters, foldable wing flaps with space for R2-D2 and clips for spare ammo and Anakin’s Lightsaber.

75283 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) | 286 pieces

For Clone Wars fans, LEGO is releasing a new AAT–he workhorse hover tank first seen in tan in the invasion of Naboo in The Phantom Menace. The last light grey and dark blue LEGO version of the AAT was the 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) from more than a decade ago in 2009. The new version is smaller but includes more curved slopes and smoother finishes.

Ahsoka Tano fans should be celebrating that a newer minifigure is available since prices for her on the secondary market have risen steadily over the last few years. The set comes with Ahsoka Tano, Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper, and two AAT Driver Battle Droids (all of whom should go along nicely with the previously announced 501st Legion Battle Pack.)

Kids can enjoy hours of epic battle action with this LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars Armored Assault Tank (AAT) building set (75283). The AAT has lots of realistic details to inspire fun, creative play, including opening hatches with space inside for the Battle Droids, LEGO minifigures, 2 spring-loaded shooters and a rotating turret with an elevating cannon.

The ship is known as “The Night Buzzard” which is a modified Oubliette-class transport dungeon ship.

The set comes with Rey in robes from The Rise of Skywalker as well as two new Knights of Ren.

Fans can relive epic Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker action scenes with this Knights of Ren Transport Ship (75284) LEGO building set. Another set from Revenge of the Sith, we have General Grievous’ escape ship/starfighter named “The Souless One.” The ship made a number of appearances throughout the Clone Wars, and the last LEGO version released was 8095 General Grievous’ Starfighter from 2010. The newest version is updated with smoother sides and a lightsaber rack.

The model comes with three minifigures including General Grievous with his customary four lightsabers, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and an Airborne Clone Trooper.

Next up from Return of the Jedi, we have Emperor Palpatine’s throne room on the second Death Star. The model is a refreshed version of 75093: Death Star Final Duel from five years ago in 2015. The newer set includes more play functions including a Force-jump, collapsing stairs and bridge, rotating throne, and a reactor shaft.

The set comes with five minifigures including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader (with arm printing), Emperor Palpatine, and two Imperial Royal Guards.

Kids can play out the epic Death Star Final Duel (75291) between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader with this LEGO Star Wars: Return of the Jedi building set. Emperor Palpatine’s throne room has many cool features to inspire creative fun, including a LEGO minifigure Force-jump function. The stairs and bridge can also be collapsed, and Darth Vader can throw the Emperor in the reactor shaft just like in the classic scene.

The set comes with four minifigures including Vi Moradi (who you can meet running around the theme park trying to escape the clutches of the First Order), Lieutenant Bek, an astromech droid and a GNK power droid.
