LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71025 Series 19 Feel Guide [Review]

We recently brought you our in-depth review of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 19 (71025), and that may have helped you decide if you want to pick up a set of the characters. But as always, the 16 unique figures are randomly packed in blind bags. So how to ensure you a full set, short of buying a full case or paying a premium to have someone else do the searching? The key, of course, is to feel the bags before you purchase, and we’ve got our Feel Guide to help you do just that.

71025 Collectible Minifigures Series 1 are available from Sept. 1 at LEGO.com for USA $3.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £2.99, as well as from third-party sellers on Amazon and eBay.

As I mentioned, the easiest way to find a complete set is to get a full case an open every package. Since every case of 60 minifigures contains three complete sets plus twelve extra figs, it can be a fun thing to split a case with two friends, with each person getting a full set and four extras. LEGO is now directly offering cases for sale, with the cases already listed online as coming soon. Unfortunately, buying a case doesn’t offer a discount over buying individual bags, but it does save hassle. The cases will be available for USA $238.99 | CAN $298.99 | UK £179.40.

Before you start feeling for the figures though, there’s one important thing to note about Series 19. According to our research, the bags are not fully randomized within the cases. We’ve examined multiple cases, and they all showed the same pattern of the first 10 figures in each row following this order, moving from front to back:

  1. Gardener
  2. Firefighter
  3. Mountain Biker
  4. Shower Guy
  5. Monkey King
  6. Fox Costume Girl
  7. Dog Sitter
  8. Galactic Bounty Hunter
  9. Mummy Queen
  10. Video Game Champ

In other words, if you’re lucky enough to be standing in front of a brand new, untouched case, you can be sure the front figure in each row is the Gardener. After these first 10, the back 10 figures are more randomly distributed, mostly in A-B-A-B pairs, but not the same across rows. Of course, it’s possible that not all of LEGO’s production lines have this exact same order, so as always use common sense and do a quick feel to confirm that what you’ve grabbed is what you wanted.

You can download a PDF of this cheat sheet to use on your phone, or print out before you hit the stores if you prefer a more old-school approach. The tips we outline below are not the only way to identify the figures. For instance, many of the heads and hair/hat pieces are also unique, but they can be difficult to distinguish through the plastic packaging. Instead, we’ve settled on the one or two elements that are easiest to feel through the packaging and should instantly give you a positive ID.

As always, each of the characters includes a standard black minifigure stand, so just like the torsos, heads, and legs they can be ignored since they are identical across all figures. Most of the hair and head accessories also will confuse all but the most skilled hunters.

71025 Collectible Minifigures Series 19 are available now from the LEGO Shop Online for USA $3.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £2.99. Complete boxes are also available for USA $238.99 | CAN $298.99 | UK £179.40.

Both individual figures and cases are also available via third-party sellers on Amazon and eBay.

The LEGO Group sent The Brothers Brick a late copy of this series for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.
