Minifigs go big in this jumbo-sized Minifig Monday

Minifig Monday is back after a few weeks away, and since it’s been a few weeks, we thought we’d bring you a jumbo-sized lineup of “large” characters. All of the featured figures incorporate minifig elements but are assembled from dozens of elements to create ornate designs and dynamic poses.

Bricksnbeasts leads the pack with Anubis, Keeper of Forgotten Souls in black and gold. The Egyptian god’s weapons are especially epic, like the sword that uses dual axe blades for the hilt. A gold sprue works perfectly for a scarab detail on the chest.

brickbot_studio diverges from his signature bot style to pay tribute to one of the great 90s sci-fi films: The Fifth Element. This all-gold Mondoshawan is instantly recognizable. The ray gun element seems like it was made for that alien face.

phiphibrick has been making waves lately by starting a trend around prosthetic arms and giant swords. This video game fighter build evokes Nintendo’s Arms with its long noodle limbs in yellow, elegantly paired with a third party fur cape.

Zakar.ion is one of the builders on the phiphibrick hype train, as this stunning enhanced knight is a direct tribute to one of the builder’s medieval mecha.

brick.roll20 carves out an icy elemental using an impressive mix of trans blue elements for a Winter Wipeout challenge.

hero_figs melds life and death for this ancient druid-inspired god. I love the combination of dual-molded druid headpiece with snake skull masks on the shoulders.

The Sea Monster has been creating some impressive and nightmarish body horror builds lately, including this tribute to Doom Patrol’s Animal-Vegetable-Mineral man.

ASortaOkayBuilder has created several spins on the bug-like thri-keen from the Forgotten Realms, but this enchanter is my favorite of the series. So cute!

artist_davs has made many impressive brick-built characters with minifig heads, like this Miaymoto Musashi. This sci-fi super soldier is quite impressive with the larger scale allowing for some slick exo armor and a greebled gun.

Tyson Tross tries his hand at brick-built bots with this spindly cyclops. There are some inspired parts uses, like wrenches for feet.

With Wicked: For Good still soaring in theaters, The Wizard of Oz has been inspiring a lot of builders of late. Llano put her own spin on the full ensemble of characters, but her Scarecrow is especially fun.

Elsewhere in Oz, Flyin_brickz polishes his bricks to make this brilliant little Tinman.

And making a second appearance today, bricksnbeasts  presents the Uncowardly Lion, making incredible use of that lion headpiece.

Finally, we have a classic build from Joe Lam that the builder recently enhanced. Titled “Attack on Empire,” the fuses a Star Wars Stormtrooper with Attack on Titans’ Survey Corps suits.

We’ll be back next time with a roundup for wintery wizards and warriors. If you’re interested in building your own icy fig, Umbasa LUG is running a Frost Knight challenge through the end of the month.
