Ed Diment flies to France on his LEGO Concorde at Mach 2

With his British Airways Concorde, Ed Diment gives Ralph Savelsberg’s B-1B Lancer a run for its money as the largest fan-built LEGO airplane model:

Even at this enormous scale, Ed has built functionality into the model. The landing gear can be stored inside the fuselage and the nose goes up and down:

Here’s Ed proving that even such a huge LEGO model is still swooshable:

This is awesome. I seriously need to start buying more generic sets and playing around with them.

  2. Ed’s prowess with the brick is both annoying and inspiring to me. :-D

  3. Wow, I have always liked the real plane, I saw a very interesting doco about the delta wing designed for super sonic speeds.

I wonder how many pieces are in this build?
    A fantastic model, bravo.

  4. Awesome stuff!

Thanks Doc I aims to annoy!
There’s roughly 10,000 bricks involved, not that I actually counted them all.

  6. Concorde is beautiful, this MOC is beautiful, althoug, it looks kind of violinet….some how….

    :D

  7. One word : Damn!

  8. the nose does look somewhat out of proportion and at an exaggerated angle to the real thing. I would suggest a little more research would yield even better building results. Still it appears that the abilty to snap together a few plates and bricks will make up for a lack of design sense

Dear Titan, if you had a clue, you might be dangerous. ;-)

  10. I want one! Do plans for these large scale lego models exist, or are these scratch built???

  11. Ed> Hehehehehe. I’ll file that one under ‘Useful’

I’d like to point out to all that while it looks like Ed can swoosh this, less ridiculously large people would probably have trouble.

CustomSlotCars> I am afraid no plans exist as they are custom built. There are graphics packages that allow you to design these, so in theory plans could be done, but they would take a fantastically long time, so I am afraid I wouldn’t. There is a company: http://www.mechanizedbrick.com that do a few good custom sets that you might be interested in. Please note I don’t have any affiliation with these people. Hopefuly this doesn’t breech any ‘Brother’s Brick’ rules!
    Hope that helps dude.

  14. [...] [Brothers Brick] [...]

  15. WOW!!! COULD YOU EMAIL ME A SET OF INTRUCTIONS FOR IT? BECAUSE I AM SAVING TO MAKE ONE MYSELF! THANKS. JOSH
