It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, it’s the holiday season, but it’s also the return of our annual LEGO advent calendar extravaganza. We’ll be opening our calendar windows every day in the run-up to Christmas. Our team will also share their thoughts, comments, observations and jokes about each day’s builds!
We have five advent calendars this year, across the City, Friends, Star Wars, Marvel (specifically Guardians of the Galaxy) and Harry Potter themes. Let’s get right into it and see what’s hiding behind the doors of day 10, shall we?
After some questionable choices of Christmas food, Friends gets firmly back on track with a staple of winter – a snowman. City gives us another minifigure, this one named Raze and armed with a broom.
We get the third namesake of the four films we’ve now covered in the Harry Potter calendar – the Goblet of Fire. Star Wars bestows a moisture vaporator upon us, while Marvel has a drill pod.
CJ: Blue hearts and blue hair. What’s not to love?
Ben: Some solid offerings behind the doors of Number 10. The Goblet’s note will be a sought after printed part methinks but I love the City figure.
Bart: “DIDYOUPUTYOURNAMEINTHEGOBLETOFFIREHARRY”, he asked calmly.
Chris: Did you remember the golden drones? I didn’t remember the golden drones. Guess I need to go watch the movies again, I had to look up that thing on Bricklink because I didn’t remember a yellow snail in Guardians of the Galaxy.
And what’s not to love about this tiny moisture vaporator?
Kyle: Would a moisture vaporator function in snowy conditions? I’d think the formation of ice crystals would pull all the water out of the air.
Some of the expressions on the double-sided heads we get this year – such as Raze’s – are great. Roger the battle droid has come a cropper after his grand theft skyhopper, ruining her snowman in the process.
