What’s a hero without a good villain? Or, better yet, a whole rogue’s gallery of baddies in every flavor. This week on Minifig Monday, we celebrate custom LEGO creations of villains – both familiar faces from comics and original characters.
Llano (femmefromtheblock) gets things started with this hot take on Mr. Freeze. It’s just one of the builder’s growing ensemble of #dcllanoverse Bat characters. The pale blue and pearlescent works so well for Gotham’s coolest villain.
Redbirch Bricks is back with this “midi-fig” spin on Bane, from the infamous Knightfall arc. The villain’s minifig legs as arms perfectly sell his venom-fueled muscles as he breaks the Bat.
Kas Bricks pays tribute to a more recent addition to Batman’s enemies – the Court of Owls – a secret society of cultists made up of Gotham’s elite. There are some truly haunting and inspired faces here.
Nicholas (legodoctorstrange) shares his take on some of Gotham’s creepier villains. Dollmaker is nightmare fuel! The builder’s take on clayface is my favorite, using hair and fur to imply an oozing body.
The ModMom has been making incredible vignettes for the Spider-Verse minifigs. Here she gives the Prowler a a stylish flat. The third Spider-verse film can’t come soon enough!
Who has the better rogues gallery – Batman or Spider-man? Why not both, Spider-Bat-vember has been asking since 2019. This fun tradition of daily minifig builds is apparently ending this year, so of course we need to pay tribute to some of the creations, like this Scoropion x Poison Ivy mashup from event co-founder snipersquirrel1.
The amazing Robin.brix chills with the tragically cool Dr. Octo-Freeze. I love the shock of white hair, a contrast to the typically bald Victor.
Woudt‘s hybrid form of Scarecrow and Vulture flies on terrifying metal wings.
The nefarious King Peng is ready to ice the competition. As created byDrew (marvelous_minifigs_14331), this hybrid villain captures the grittier side of the criminal underworld.
As we close the book on comics-inspired characters, in flies an original villain from Garret (2p_figs) named Poison who makes great use of bright yellow-green accessories. I love the chunky engine of the character’s hoverboard.
Henry the Brickman also finds inspiration in toxic colors with this cybernetic Necron, a villain of the Warhammer 20K universe. The brick-built gun looks incredible, incorporating roller skates, a flask, and a visor. He might spread death, but this Necron is pretty cute!
Brennen (brickbot_studio) shares a Necron who is anything but cute. XELTHARION, RECLAIMANT OF THE VOID means business, armed with a stunning weapon named the Stormscepter of Khepra.
phiphibrick scuttles in with Brother Ticktelius, a techno priest with an inferiority complex. I don’t know if the builder intended the character’s name to sound so much like “tickle,” but he will definitely have you in stitches with that impressive axe.
Brothers Brick alum Tromas mixes minifig with dinosaur arms to create the terrible Ol’Maergrit Blacknail. You all know the rhyme, right?
Click… clack… Blacknail’s back.
Wrap your blanket, don’t look back.
Hear that scrape along the stair?
Blacknail knows you’re hiding there.
Haon.brx takes inspiration from the first big Elden Ring baddie, Godrick the Grafted, for his own hybrid character – Rohäl, The Untamed & Karon, the Grafted Beast. Hero and villain united as one. I love it.
thickerbricks creates a medieval faction around one of litterature’s great villains – the Queen of Hearts. The builder uses a limited black, white, and red color palette to incredible effect.
Finally, we end with an over-sized orc creation from Matt Goldberg. The Piraka head looks great on the top-heavy body that combines large macaroni tubes for arms and a bat symbol for the chest plate. The character appeared a rider for the builder’s Bio-Cup entry earlier this year.
Thanks for traveling with us on the wrong side of the tracks for a lineup of LEGO villains. Be sure to follow these talented builders and let them know you appreciate their builds!
