The Brothers Brick

“Greetings. The Master Control Program has chosen you to serve your system on the Game Grid.”

1982’s Tron and it’s 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy have produced outstanding LEGO models over the years and I thought it was high time to compile the best examples into a single post. The films might not be the strongest in terms of logical plotting or dialogue, but they are inspirational eye-candy for many sci-fi builders. This list is far from comprehensive and you, constant reader, have no doubt seen many of them before. If I have omitted any key models in the genre, please let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the post. So put on your Daft Punk soundtrack, grab your glow-in-the-dark Frisbee and get ready for some action.

For many fans of Tron, it all starts with the light cycles, like this one from Ewok in Disguise….

…or this one from Abathar…

…or this one from monsterbrick…

…or this minimalist version from Sir Nadroj…

…or this one with a cool light-up trail by ma8eli…

…or these from SPARKART!…

…or these from 2×4

…or these from LEGO Suzuki…

…or this one from _zenn.

Some builders did not limit themselves to two wheels, like Cole Blaq…

…or this motor-pool from 4estFeller…

…or these Cave Racers and Debugger Program by Shannon Ocean.

Some of the most interesting models inspired by the films have nothing to do with personal conveyances at all, like this amazing sculpture of Quorra by the obscure new builder Ochre Jelly.

Even the LDD guys get into the act, like tronlegacy.

No coverage of LEGO Tron models would be complete without a few examples from one of my favorite builders, the master of the black-light, Catsy.

So what did I miss? Just remember that the photography has to be up to snuff, and leave me a link in your comment.
