Our favorite holiday tradition is opening all six LEGO Advent Calendars, one day at a time, with you, our readers! Along with spoiler pics of the daily gifts, we include commentary and alternate builds to celebrate the season and creativity.
We have an all-star cast of custom minifig creators leading our Advent adventure this year. Fool’s Figures is wizarding his way through Harry Potter and Frozen calendars. ExpansionBricks is launching Star Wars and Friends. And beyondb0nes is digging into Minecraft and City. Now let’s open some doors and see what gifts are in store for today!
Fools: I really like this build for the Amortentia love potions found in Weasley Wizard Weazes! Super recognizable, and it’s got some fun colors.
Jake: The pinkest Potter build this side of Umbridge’s office!
Bones: A really nice, colorful way to represent a Love Potion. Like all the other brick-built gifts from Harry Potter this year, it seems big, which is good for giving kids the feeling that they received something valuable.
Fools: We get a second kitten friend to use the seesaw from Day 19, along with a croissant and another tree, identical to yesterday’s.
Bones: A little buddy ready to play with the cat from day 19?
Jake: The tree is still great, but why a croissant? Do Arendelle cats eat croissants?
Fools: Today’s alt-builds – mix your own potions!
Bones: I don’t think Snape would approve.
Bones: Of course, Mrs. Claus is back, just like last year and the year before. Observant fans will notice that in 2024, she came with a printed dress, making the minifigure much more interesting than this one. Not printed, not cool.
Fools: Mrs. Claus is a great inclusion, but yeah, I would’ve liked to see a printed dress piece.
Bones: A Christmas tree but in Minecraft style. We haven’t seen many Christmas-themed gifts in this calendar so far, so this one is a nice addition. Lots of pieces to assemble for a pretty effective result.
Fools: Somehow this tree successfully captures the Minecraft vibe, despite its circular ornaments.
Jake: All I want for christmas is a stale pretzel.
Bones: You’re in luck!
Bones: Watch out for Mrs. Claus. Anger her, and she just might fire her cream machine gun!
Expansion: “I’m here to kick ass and bake cookies. And I’m all out of cookie dough.”
Expansion: A solid Christmas tree build with a cookie laid out for Santa 4/5
Jake: No pretzel?
Fools: This is one of the cuter Christmas trees I’ve seen from this years line ups, it has a nice classic feel.
Bones: An efficient Christmas tree build, probably with a bit less personality than the one found in the Minecraft calendar, but still a good gift, like all the ones with plenty of pieces to assemble!
Expansion: A probe droid build. Those treats for Santa won’t stay hidden for long 4/5
Fools: Definitely the most budget probe droid I’ve ever seen.
Bones: Not as nice as the one found in the Hoth AT-ST set (75322), but still a very recognizable little build.
Expansion: Sometimes pets just don’t get the exercise they need. The Nanny droid will take them around the block until they drop.
