Our favorite holiday tradition is opening all six LEGO Advent Calendars, one day at a time, with you, our readers! Along with spoiler pics of the daily gifts, we include commentary and alternate builds to celebrate the season and creativity.
We have an all-star cast of custom minifig creators leading our Advent adventure this year. Fool’s Figures is wizarding his way through Harry Potter and Frozen calendars. ExpansionBricks is launching Star Wars and Friends. And beyondb0nes is digging into Minecraft and City. Now let’s open some doors and see what gifts are in store for today!
Fools: For Day 19 we have Blaise Zabini, not much to say really.
Jake: His name is pretty cool. We say that, I guess.
Expansion: Two Slytherin jumpers? In this economy?!
Fools: This little cat with slippers is super cute, and comes with a snowy seesaw as well.
Expansion: At first glance I thought the seesaw was supposed to be a nail file!
Fools: In today’s alt “build,” looks like Draco’s gotten some coal…
Expansion: Draco definitely deserves coal for Christmas.
Jake: Maybe he’s trying out stylish wigs to look as cool as Blaise Zabini.
Bones: And, of course, a snowman, the classic calendar gift.
Expansion: Sometimes I wonder if Lego will ever run out of snowman designs… then I come to my senses. Of course they won’t.
Fools: Ye good ole’ fashioned pirate snowman.
Bones: Sheep! And in a new color, no less! While the red sheep appeared in 2018, the green one is brand new. Fans will probably love it, though the print quality is another story, it’s quite poor on both. The white print looks like light pink on the red sheep and light blue on the green sheep. Come on Lego…
Fools: Super fun to get the sheep in Christmas colors!
Expansion: If you’ve ever considered trying ti collect all of the Lego Minecraft sheep, search for the black one on bricklink. IYKYK
Bones: In 2023 it had a motocross helmet, in 2024 it wore a top hat. This year, it’s sporting a tricorn, what will be next?
Jake: Maybe a fedora? Ore one of those Dreamzzz slime head pieces in trans light blue like it’s melting.
Bones: A little janitor bot to keep everything sparkling clean!
Expansion: This cleaning bot is reminding me of some sort of Wither Maid.
Expansion: Today from Friends, a karaoke station. I’m in Japan right now so this feels particularly appropriate! Nice to get a phone print too.
Bones: Darn, they put it in the wrong calendar, this was the Karaoke Droid 50-NG meant for the Star Wars calendar. Isn’t it adorable with its little microphone arms?
Expansion: this is more like it. A cute mouse droid build in candy cane colours. I’m also getting Christmas cracker vibes! 4/5
Fools: This might be my favorite droid build of the calendar. It’s not super complex, but the fact that it’s unique and festive makes me appreciate it.
Expansion: Okay, okay at gonk number 3 I think it’s time to tap out. You’re welcome
Bones: It’s family photo time! These are some very lovely droids we’ve got here, I’ll take the one with the nose and those beautiful silver shoes!
