Marvel at this Legion of Extraordinary Superhero Minfigs [Minifig Monday]

Summer movie season is coming to an end, having reinvigorated the superhero genre with great entries for both Marvel and DC. While it will be some time before the next super-powered crossover hits screens, the genre is still popping in the LEGO minifig community. Today on Minifig Monday, we bring you a mix of headlining heroes and deep cut villains from a legion of incredible LEGO fig fans. Be sure to add the creators to your pull list and give them a like. Now, dear readers, without further ado – Excelsior!

When it comes to adapting Marvel for the screen, 2024’s X-Men ’97 is as good as it gets. LEGO’s X-Mansion introduced a few more mutants to minifig form, with some big omissions. Boderson Bricks steps up with Xavier’s gifted team of mutants, bringing Jubilee and Morph into the fold.

Boderson also recreates the larger supporting cast of allies and villains, most of whom never appeared in LEGO, using official LEGO parts. Mr. Sinister and Emma Frost are especially nice.

It’s open season on Spider-man in this ensemble from Garet (2p_figs). If you’re cravin’ some Kraven or ready for Morbin’ time, Garrett has you covered. He even invited Man-Wolf and Morlun to stir up trouble. Fortunately, Spidey has Blade on his side.

Tom (Brickfigs1) also plays in the Spider-verse sandbox. This greebly mech suit version of Rhino is one of the coolest miniature mechs I’ve ever seen.

Parker (lego.frenzy) recently picked up some One Piece sets for the amazing minifig parts and it clicked that Zoro’s new bandana mold is perfect for black suit Daredevil. From this seed, Parker brought in more One Piece parts  – Sanji’s head and Usopp’s bag for Foggy, and Nami’s crying face for Karen.

robin.brix fell in love with Fantastic Four: First Steps, but after playing with the official set, she was inspired to explore a body horror twist on Marvel’s first family. Reed Richard’s pathetic putty form is too perfect.

LEGO Masters contestant and amazing photographer Łukasz Więcek captures Deadpool in a quieter moment with his collection of super accessories “borrowed” from some of his team-ups.

Now we switch over to the DC Universe, which is newly reinvigorated after the success of James Gunn’s Superman. Llano (femmefromtheblock) assembles the greater Superman family, with, as she puts it, a melanated twist, bringing in more skin tones. Power Girl’s famously ample assets are created with a clever bit of sticker-bashing using only official LEGO stickers.

Hey, you guys! What’s the colletive noun for a group of Supermen? A Legion? A team-up? Maybe just a gaggle. LegoK brings in a few Supes variants – Bizarro, Joker, Zombie, and best of all Sloth!

Fools Figures dances with the devil in the pale moonlight to assemble a personal spin on Batman and foes. The Dreamzzz hat and scarf are perfect for a chilling custom Scarecrow.

Auto’s Builds has been sharing the occasional lineup from Batman’s Rogue’s Gallery. Here we have the “Suited Crooks” deep cuts: Sterling T. Silversmith, The Eraser, Gentleman Ghost, Mad Hatter, Great White Shark, and Mr. Combustible.

Aquaman’s cinematic future may be on ice, but the characters live on in this ensemble from Haon.brx. Figures aside, there are some wonderful details in the staging, like the bubbles coming out of the treasure chess, and the well-placed octopus.

Chris (Flyin_brickz) goes big with a brick-built version of the demon Trigon from DC’s Vertigo comics taking on Constantine. I especially love Trigon’s staff.

Kas focuses mostly on Marvel and DC, but I really like this grounded take on the Scooby Gang. I mean, they’ve teamed up with Batman before and are owned by WB, so they’re basically DC superheroes.

Based on Bob Burden’s alternative comics, Mystery Men is a cult classic “super” hero film where costumed justice is a more of a hobby for misfits. Stuntman Brick captures these losers perfectly.

Finally, moving from heroes of the page and screen, we have a series of original characters inspired by music. anotherlegoaccount might now sound like a must-follow creator, but the builder’s characters are always inspired, case in point this Beatles inspired super-team and their foes.  How many characters can you guess from the Beatles discography?

Can you guess the identity of these villains? I’m smitten by the Walrus with his Fabuland head.

One more set of villains from the Beatles Song-a-matic Universe.

That concludes our tour of recent superhero minifig creations. If you enjoy Minifig Mondays, please give a follow to the creators featured and send them a kind word.
