The Brothers Brick

All-mighty Atalanta

Employing some delightful designs within the overall model, Builder Alexandre Bigeard has crafted a sleek spacecraft full of detail. Fans of ships such as this know well the similarities and slight differences that pop up as designer after designer tries their hand in this style. Panels made of stacked brick and laden with details attach at varying angles to a greebly central frame. Technically intricate pieces line every visible surface to really sell the spacey them. Industrial colors of gray, black, and tan are augmented with lines of red and yellow, lining this up to be quite the lurker within the dark void of space.

The bridge was a design of Builder Rob Dasnewten while the engine and cannon were inspired by Builder FlyInSpace’s Negotiator. Outside of the similarities to other Builder’s design that Alexandre points out, the rest of this ship pulls from HaloStar Wars, and Homeworld.

The kindest thing that Alexandre did while taking photos of the physical model was show a breakdown of the individual components of the final model. This really helps show off the techniques and designs that ship builders employee in their creations. Take a moment to get a closer look at the parts which Alexandre crafted into one far out puzzle.

In the midst of the massive SHIPtember month where Builders are crafting their own massive crafts on various scales, its easy to see this as the Battle Cruiser Alexandre describes it as. Armed to the teeth and ready for war, this little beastie sure packs a punch.
