Minions Star Wars characters are unbearably adorable

Minions are adorable. And now that we’re going to get another true Star Wars movie, we can all like Star Wars again. So what happens when Spanish builder car_mp mashes up the two? Well, Minion Yoda, of course.

And check out this Minion Darth Vader lording it over Minion Han Solo in carbonite!

My wife’s reaction: “I want Minion Star Wars. I’m going to cry now if I don’t get Minion Star Wars.” Sounds about right.

Back in 2011, we featured car_mp’s Star Wars + Family Guy mashup of Stewie as Darth Vader. Check it out.

Ba-ba-ba, Ba-banana...

Many of the brick-built Despicable Me minions we’ve featured have been rather flat, so it’s wonderful to see this adorably round minion by BricksBen (Benjamin Cheh & Jeffrey Kong). He looks like he’s singing the Banana/Potato Song.

Thanks for the tip, Bruce!

These Despicable Me minions know how to have a good time

Everybody’s favorite super-villain returned to movie theaters this past weekend, assisted by an army of minions. Joachim Klang (-derjoe-) has created a series of photos featuring the adorable minions from Despicable Me 2. One of my favorite scenes from the first movie is when Dave the minion blows up several of his colleagues with a rocket launcher.

Here they are suggesting that you head back to theaters again later this year.

And finally, a little something for those of you who’ve seen the movie.

Despicable Me 2 Minion's (dark purple)

Though not as bitingly hilarious as the first movie, I thought Despicable Me 2 certainly lived up to its predecessor in sheer entertainment value — my wife and I laughed so hard several times tears were streaming down our faces.

Despicable Me minion by Alex Eylar

Alex Eylar (Profound Whatever) has been on a building tear lately, posting more LEGO creations than we can keep up with. One of my favorites so far is also one of the simplest — a minion from the upcoming movie Despicable Me.

Minion

As much as I love the minions — and Alex’s LEGO rendition of one — I’m less interested in seeing the movie, especially after seeing the full trailer before Toy Story 3. Bungling supervillains fighting each other? Yes. Three adorable girls who bring the goodness out in a supervillain, who actually has a heart of gold? No.
