Travel back in time inside this retro TARDIS

Doctor Who is a British sci-fi television series about the titular character who travels through space and time. Since it first aired in 1963, it has been a staple of pop-culture and has even gotten an official Doctor Who LEGO set. Fan builders also built many iterations of the time-traveling spaceship TARDIS, many large and complex on the inside. However, Librarian-Bot created a console room of a different TARDIS operated by a different Time Lord. This one is not unlike the hero’s TARDIS from the late 1970s, still recognisable and iconic. While more recent console rooms are grey and greebly, Librarian-Bot adds a splash of colour with white and blues. But my favourite section has to be the usage of computer and button tiles in the middle. Despite being LEGO’s generic decorative elements from old space and town sets, they fit right into this scene.

Retro Dalek is set to EXSTEAMINATE!

Letranger Absurde is no stranger to the pages of The Brothers Brick. We regularly feature his models (including this recent LEGO Exorcist creation). Here he is again, with a brilliant steampunk Dalek…

Dabeno Automaton L.E.K.

This has some lovely angles and detailing, immediately recognisable as a Dalek, but with just enough steamy retro-scifi goodness to mark it out as something different. I also like the raked-back angle it’s got — like some sort of Victorian/Alien hotrod. Nice work.

LEGO Dr Who chess set has all the moves

Adam Dodge has built a fantastic miniland-scale Dr Who chess set. The figures and characters he’s created for it are fabulous – various Doctors and companions facing off against a collection of classic enemies and villains.

We have multiple Doctors and the obligatory TARDIS…

And then there are the enemies. I love how Adam has nailed the design for Missy’s hair — immediately recognisable in only a handful of pieces. Cracking work on Davros too…

Inside a Dalek is a cooler place than you’d imagine

Xenomurphy has been no stranger to the pages of The Brothers Brick in the last few months. We’ve been loving his LEGO versions of scenes from the Elder Scrolls Online. However, he also built this cracker of a diorama, based on an episode from Dr Who where the Doctor and Clara are miniaturized and end up inside a Dalek.

Doctor Who – Into the Dalek

There’s some good greebling here, immediately identifiable as Dalek-style tech if you’re a fan of the show, and there’s an impressive sense of a wider space beyond the limits of the photo’s framing. All-in-all, this is excellent sci-fi building, and it’s great to see a Dr Who build which doesn’t rely on including a TARDIS.
