The name’s Jack...Union Jack

Back in 1941, World War II inspired ceramic manufacturer Royal Doulton to release a patriotic bulldog figure. Royal Doulton re-released the bulldog in 2012 to coincide with its appearance in the film, Skyfall. Since LEGO Ideas is currently running a James Bond contest, Victor decided to build a nearly 1:1 scale LEGO version of the bulldog. Victor’s model looks adorable, and the smooth curves of the dog and studs-out sculpting of the flag on his back make for an eye-pleasing juxtaposition.

Contests can be excellent sources of inspiration. That may be the case for Kingmarshy, who is competing in the 2018 Bio-Cup. The tournament is centered around Technic and Constraction creations, and this entry was submitted for the 3rd round. The round is themed “The Future” and this is subthemed under “Utopia”.

MissUtopia

There’s a lot of really great parts usage in this fun little build. The ribbed hose for the skirt is one example, and the Throwbot Technic gearbox pieces are also a great addition. My personal favorite part is the design of “GD-801” the robo-dog. The harpoon gun tail and retro wheels for shoulders really give him the perfect sci-fi look.

This Cute Corgi is the Queen of the Castle

In addition to being the grandmother of Prince William and Harry, Queen Elizabeth II is known for her love of Corgis. She has owned several over the years and, if given the chance, would probably adopt this glorious puppy built by BrickinNick. BrickinNick’s chibi-like design is simply adorable, from the dog’s panting mouth and big eyes to the cape on its back and tilted crown. The small arches also make for nice, little, perky ears. I can almost feel the warm and wet puppy kisses!

Royal Corgi

The Queen recently lost the last of her famous pack of Corgis, a dog named Willow who starred with Daniel Craig in the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies. Our condolences to Her Majesty.

Build your own cute doggie desk buddy [Video Instructions]

If you’re looking for a cute LEGO desk buddy to keep you smiling during your work day, look no further, because we’ve made a step-by-step video tutorial on how to build this adorable LEGO dog designed by CK HO.

We featured picture instructions for this build back in January, but we loved this guy so much we wanted to give it a full walkthrough. I’ve built mine in gray, but if you have the parts it can be built in many different colors, such as tan, brown, or black.

If you build this cute doggie yourself, be sure to add us on social media and post it with the hashtag #CKHOdogbuild.

These dogs are here to help!

While the power of some dogs is in their incredible cuteness, other dogs — though certainly no less adorable in many ways — have been bred to meet the demanding needs of the humans that they work with. LEGO 7 follows up his amazing LEGO hot dog food truck with a trio of pooches who do amazing and important work.

Pugs and Corgis and Frenchies, oh my! A cavalcade of LEGO canine cuteness!

A couple weeks ago we featured an adorable LEGO miniature dachshund, whose, uh, accurately brick-built posterior attracted some rather surprised comments. It’s wonderful to see that the Year of the Dog is inspiring builders to create realistic LEGO depictions of man’s best friend. Leading the pack thus far has been ZiO Chao (of recent wiener dog fame), with another trio of wonderful creatures.

Unsurprisingly, this chubby little pug is my favorite of the bunch, reminding me of TBB’s unofficial mascot, Oliver Twist the pug. He has a lovely corkscrew tail and floppy little ears.

Celebrating the year of dog in a company of very good boys [Instructions]

Somehow all the best LEGO creations designed by fans from South Korea are either huge jaw-dropping mechs or tiny adorable animals. This time it’s a pack of extremely good shiba puppers by CK HO. There are so many touches that make these models instantly recognizable, but I can’t help admiring their square pointy noses.

YEAR OF THE DOG (SHIBA)

The idea of this model is so simple that you can build one yourself and make it any color you like! Moreover, you can easily customize you shiba by changing its eyes, ears or the shape of its muzzle. Click the link below to find the complete step-by-step building guide.

Everybody loves a wiener

2018 is the Year of the Dog, so I’ve been enjoying all the extra LEGO creations inspired by our canine best friends. There are even couple new dog-themed LEGO sets, like 30542 Cute Pug and the upcoming 40235 Year of the Dog, which seems to depict a Shiba Inu. Taiwanese builder ZiO Chao has captured the quirky personality of the miniature dachshund with this black and tan beauty.

Dachshund

ZiO has built an unmodified male dachshund, as this view of his business end illustrates. That tail looks ready for the show ring!

Oh this is the night, it’s a beautiful night, and we call it bella notte...

Who knew those LEGO hot air balloon panels would make perfectly floppy pupper ears? Well as you can see, builder LEGO 7 knew. In fact, their spot-on take of the iconic spaghetti scene from Disney’s Lady and the Tramp is packed full of tremendous NPU (Nice Parts Usage) which gives these two pups a cuddly, soft appearance. The only thing missing from this creation is moonlight and accordion music.

Build your own LEGO Oliver Twist the pug dog [Instructions]

Even though The Brothers Brick’s official mascot is some type of strepsirrhine primate, our unofficial mascots have always been my pugs, first the late, great Mr. Pugsly and now Oliver Twist. TBB’s own Elspeth De Montes created a LEGO version of little Ollie for our recent calendar contest, and she has just posted simple instructions for you to build your own LEGO pug.

Corgiballs of cuteness!

These poofy corgiballs are brimming with cuteness. They were digitally rendered by Steven Reid based on a design by actioncharles. If only the bricks existed in these colors then I’d build one myself, or two, or a dozen…

If you can’t hang with the big dogs, you stay on the porch!

Here is an adorable couple of Chihuahuas by delayice to celebrate the start of the weekend. Take a moment to note how adorably grotesque both dogs are and how recognizable the overall shape is. How can one not fall in love with these silly eyes and enormous ears?
