Tim Schwalf brings us the Hurricane Battlecruiser, a 155 stud behemoth made of equal parts smooth paneling and fantastic greebling. The smaller fighters and overall presentation kick the whole thing up to 11.

The Philippine LUG challenge is rapidly yielding some stellar results, as Nannan’s post below reminded me to blog this awesome build. Lu Sim offers this fantastically different take on the same Aztec Mech theme, with a more intimidatingly mechanoid and regal design. If this guy showed up and told me to offer up some blood sacrifices, I would totally go along with it.
I grew up reading the Redwall series, and despite the fact that the books didn’t vary much in plot (usually something to do with defending the Abbey, or rescuing the youngsters from some nefarious evildoers) the books still hold a special, nostalgia-tinged place in my heart.
Stormbringer takes a break from his series of dragons to post this much fluffier model of Martin, the hero of the very first book of the series.
Nick’s got the small arms of Titanfall covered, but when it’s time to call in the big guns, you need this Atlas by Sam Wormuth (-infomaniac-).
The staff here is sadly unsavvy to the details of Titanfall, but it doesn’t take an expert to appreciate the level of detailing on this thing. You can practically feel the ground shake just by looking at this killer mech.
Forest King (KingBrick) has finally unveiled his most massive build yet, the 4 foot long Kingfisher. Forest has employed many of his signature techniques to great effect here, with faded white bricks and chunky paneling all lending a sense of extreme durability and resilience. The mix of colors is particularly nice, with orange, red and yellow highlights accentuating the tan, white and grey color scheme and giving an industrial feel to the design.
Suckmybrick just unveiled a series of 16 despots and notables, ranging from tinpot dictators to messiahs, and all sorts of historical figures in between. The caricatured style means there’s something to love about each of them, but for whatever reason the bad guys tend to be my favorite; who can stay mad at Kim Jong Il with those adorable glasses, or Castro and his tousled beard?
It’s a good week for small mecha, as hot on the heels of the previous gundams we have a double fistful of pintsize brawlers.
In the green corner we have the Triple-M by Devid, coming at you like a mullet, all lethal armor in the front and human burrito in the back.
And in the teal corner is the Mech with No Name from Guy Smiley, warming up for the match with a fleshie punching bag.
