Happy holidays to all of our fellow LEGO builders! As is tradition, we at The Brothers Brick will be opening our advent calendars as we count down to Christmas. We’ll also be sharing commentary on each one, which we hope will provide insight and hilarity to your holiday season!
This year we have new Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, City and Friends advent calendars to open. We will be sharing images of the new calendars every day through Christmas, and hope that you’ll join us! Let’s see what there is to open on Day 7.
Today’s builds were a pleasure to open! Everything was top-notch, starting with a fun landspeeder from Star Wars. Harry Potter gave us a neat printed tile of The Leaky Cauldron, which I’m pretty confident you can’t find anywhere else. Yet as cool as these two builds were, neither were as awesome as the friendly neighborhood web-slinger, holding a mug in one hand and what looks to be a bagged churro in the other.
City gave us a minifigure in mid-heist/mid-hockey game, which was fun. Opening the build from Friends resulted in yet another microdoll with the usual stocking and wrapped gift.
Bart: More sleeping bags for friends and is spiderman eating churros?
CJ: Yeah, the churros thing threw me – had to ask some other Brothers Brick folks to even figure out what it was supposed to be. Once you know what it is, though, it’s a pretty smart solution, and something we haven’t seen before. Now I’ve moved on to confusion about the red gem – is that supposed to be a hockey accessory?
Chris: I love the churro! I wish it were brown instead of yellow, but alas, LEGO has the Technic axles color locked and the 3L is only yellow and light grey. Let’s not overlook that landspeeder though, which is a great design though offhand I’m not placing which it is. I’ve seen some people call it an RCG-18, but it doesn’t look like it to me.
Ed: Advent Calendars to me are simply figbait LEGO sets. I spend an unreasonable amount of dollars for a single minifigure. This is is the sole reason I’m getting the Marvel Advent Calendar. Churros homecoming Spiderman.
