2021 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 6

Happy holidays to all of our fellow LEGO builders! As is tradition, we at The Brothers Brick will be opening our advent calendars as we count down to Christmas. We’ll also be sharing commentary on each one, which we hope will provide insight and hilarity to your holiday season!

This year we have new Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, City and Friends advent calendars to open. We will be sharing images of the new calendars every day through Christmas, and hope that you’ll join us! Let’s see what there is to open on Day 6.

Today’s Star Wars and Harry Potter builds were a bit difficult to recognize, but we eventually figured it out. As first seen in Rebels and then in live-action in The Mandalorian, the Imperial Troop Transport was a great addition to the Star Wars advent calendar vehicle lineup. We also weren’t sure which minifigure this was, but we narrowed it down to Dudley, Harry’s cousin. Marvel gave us a burger picnic. Or maybe it’s a shawarma sandwich.

From the City advent calendar, we opened a fun little micro police car with a set of handcuffs. But it was the Christmas tree from the Friends set that truly captured our hearts.

Bart: Police car on its way to cuff a giant.

CJ: Nothing like a comically oversized burger to whet the super-heroic appetite. And is Bart onto something? Are these micro vehicles actually meant to be interacting with the “full scale” minifigures? No wonder the ice-skating cop from yesterday was so sad. He’s been turned into a giant!

Chris: LEGO has used that burger design quite a few times before, but it’s such a great design for the scale, even if it is comically oversized. And that’s a very odd-looking Christmas tree, but I guess it gets the point across well enough. All in all, today’s haul is a bit of a yawn.

Ed: I don’t get the cuffs at the back of the police car. Someone explain it to me please. Also, X’mas trees are a staple every year, and they do it differently each time. Scorecard for this tree: 4. Does the job.

    Each of the City models, with the exception of the bus, comes with an accessory for a mini to use: brush, Letter to Santa, bandage, and handcuffs. And I suppose the bus can be ridden like the train they have on the box.
