The Queer Eye set follows the style developed with 21302 The Big Bang Theory, 21319 Friends: Central Perk, and 10292 Friends: The Apartments in creating a studio-type layout, though this set eschews the studio lights at the corners and just shows the primary areas and floor of the Fab 5’s loft. As with the other sets, there are plenty of easter eggs for fans to find.

The back of the set is relatively sparse, though there is some storage for extra makeover materials. If you’ve been waiting for white masonry bricks, here they are!

The set includes the Fab 5: Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), Antoni Porowski (Food and Wine), Tan France (Fashion), Bobby Berk (Design), and Karamo Brown (Culture), as well as various accessories that showcase their roles.

There are even a few costume changes! Overall, the outfits seem to be spot on, especially Tan’s signature hairstyle.

Of course, you can’t have a makeover show without a hero to spruce up, so fan-favorite Kathi Dooley is also included. Her special relationship with Jonathan as his music teacher, as well as her championing for young people and total selfless nature made her a shoe-in for this set.

Stay tuned for our review of this set, which will be dropping soon. In the meantime, check out more photos in the gallery below.

Can we get away from TV shows and the like? Where is the true play ability here? Maybe I am missing it, but it would seem this type of set is better suited if it were a line of “make your own TV show or Movie”. Have the kids make their own and use these as a guide? Seems like a missed opportunity here? I don’t know? I am failing to see the appeal beyond sitting on a shelf as display.

  2. Ugnaught's Den

Why? First, I did not even know there was a new queer eye. Second, how much overlap with the lego fanbase is there? Lego complains about how much money it costs to develop this or that set and then they come out with things like this?

Sometimes you just have to ask, “Is anyone going to build this from their own pre-existing parts?” I can’t think of anyone who is so enamored with a show like this that they rush to their lego hoard and have to build it.

What’s next? Lego say yes to the dress? Lego my big fat fabulous life’s mom’s house? Lego what not to wear?
