LEGO reveals 7 new Star Wars sets for late summer 2020 including Galaxy’s Edge and upcoming 2020 advent calendar [News]

LEGO has revealed seven new Star Wars sets based on everything across the galaxy including the films, television shows, a visual dictionary, and even Disney’s theme park land, Galaxy’s Edge. The sets include two brand new ships, multiple desirable minifigures, a few refreshed models, and the 2020 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar. (Spoiler alert: we’ve included photos of the Advent behind the jump at the far end of this article.)

The seven new sets join four other upcoming LEGO Star Wars models already announced earlier this year, including 75288 AT-AT, 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers, 75292 The Razor Crest and 75317 The Mandalorian & The Child BrickHeadz. All these new sets should be available globally starting Sept. 1st.

75281 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor | 248 pieces

First up, we have Anakin’s yellow Jedi Interceptor from Revenge of the Sith. The set comes with minifigures of Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2 and appears to be an updated version of 75038 Jedi Interceptor released six years ago. The newest model is refreshed with modern elements and tiles, though the overall profile is nearly identical.

For Clone Wars fans, LEGO is releasing a new AAT–he workhorse hover tank first seen in tan in the invasion of Naboo in The Phantom Menace. The last light grey and dark blue LEGO version of the AAT was the 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) from more than a decade ago in 2009. The new version is smaller but includes more curved slopes and smoother finishes.

Ahsoka Tano fans should be celebrating that a newer minifigure is available since prices for her on the secondary market have risen steadily over the last few years. The set comes with Ahsoka Tano, Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper, and two AAT Driver Battle Droids (all of whom should go along nicely with the previously announced 501st Legion Battle Pack.)

The Knights of Ren Transport Ship is an interesting choice for a set as it appears only momentarily in The Rise of Skywalker film but is fleshed out more fully in The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary. The ship is known as “The Night Buzzard” which is a modified Oubliette-class transport dungeon ship.

The set comes with Rey in robes from The Rise of Skywalker as well as two new Knights of Ren.

    Glad I am not much of a star wars fan because these prices are insane.

    Any reasons why the calendar is $40 in the US and £25 in the UK? That is big difference.

    @Greg… It’s due to the exchange rate. Not to mention, That’s always been the cost of the Advent Calendar.

    Anyway.
    I LOVE this years calendar. There are some builds we have not seen in a while, and there are some great characters too!

    As far as the other sets. I’m gotta say, the pricing on the Resistance Transport surprises me, very inexpensive.

    I do think it is still unfair for Americans, 25 pounds is still only 31 dollars, compared with the 40 dollar price tag in the US.
