LEGO wants you to choose one of the next Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets [News]

If you have ever dreamed about deciding on the next Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Star Wars set, now it’s your time to act. Starting today, you can cast a vote for one of three iconic Star Wars spaceships. The vote will be open until January 30th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. CEST (4 a.m. EST), so you don’t have plenty of time to decide. You can only choose one idea, so choose wisely!

There are three very special ships put to a vote, and each can be named a fan-favorite model.

Nebulon B Escort Frigate
Originally intended for the Imperial Navy, these ships were used as convoy escorts and made their first appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and appears again, in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and even in Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

TIE Bomber
Like a big brother version of the TIE Fighters, these ships were created to destroy large starships and not for fast-paced combat. With dual hulls, one for the pilot and one for the warhead launchers, this ship features in both Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Republic Gunship
Who can forget the epic moment these ships dropped into the arena carrying the clones in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones during the Battle of Geonosis, rescuing Padmé and Jedi from Count Dooku.

What is more important, according to the description on the LEGO Ideas blog, fans are voting for the model for one of the next LEGO Star Wars sets. Even if your number one pick wins, we have absolutely no idea when the set will hit store shelves. However, it doesn’t make the news less exciting, so make sure to share your choice in the comments!

Anyone have any idea how to rig the vote so it looks like we voted unanimously for the RotJ speeder bike?

  2. Devin

Gotta be the Nebulon-B. It’s never been represented in Lego before, and the other two (in my opinion) work just fine as System-scale sets.

  3. WemWem

Nebulon B or nothing! Prequels killed my love for this franchise really hard, but I would seriously consider buying a UCS Nebulon B. it’s such a wonderful design.

  4. Ryan

Nebulon-B for the win! This is one of favorite capital ships and would make for a fantastic UCS or system set.

  5. Exxos

Nebulon-b absolutely. The only thing I would want more in a UCS set would be the A-Wing.

They could not do the bomber decently without going into too high a part count (the millennium falcon warrants that, but the bomber wouldn’t) and the republic gunship is a garbage design from the cancerous tumor sections of the franchise.

The Nebulon B. Really awesome looking ship. The gunship is cool, but at least it’s been done before in another series.

The incredible number of inevitable monochromatic pieces in the Nebulon B made me choose the Gunship. The curves of the gunship could use some newer molds in new colors and thus would have more versatility in terms of parts, if keeping it built isn’t your thing; it would also be easier to make it minifig-scale and minifig interactive. Finally, the Nebulon B would likely end up being around $400–not interested in that price range.
