2019 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 12

Welcome to Day 12 of our LEGO Advent Calendar countdown. Each day, we’ll reveal the four mini-builds from the LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Friends, and LEGO City 2019 advent calendars along with commentary from The Brothers Brick team.

If you’re opening one (or more) of these advent calendars along with us, we’ve made sure the pictures and commentary on each day’s models will be behind a jump so we don’t accidentally ruin the surprise. What did the elves bring on Day 12?

For Day 12, we have some food accessories from Harry Potter and an Imperial Gunner from Star Wars.

Dave: The food from Harry Potter is one the few rare advent calendar days that doesn’t include building! (The last I remember was a lone pony from the 2017 Friends calendar.) That said, the pearl silver dish is new and the second one in this calendar so far, and that bright light yellow pie has only been in a few sets so far, so still a decent day. The Imperial Gunner from Star Wars is the same from 75217 Imperial Conveyex Transport, but it is good to have some variety.

Andrew: That guy is totally gonna step in the pie.

Lino: “I’m just going to have to take your word for it. I wish I could see out this helmet.”

Matt: Obligatory: “Come to the dark side. We have cookies.”

Daniel: Good thing I’m not a Mandalorian! This helmet is coming off.

Rod: Witness the awesome results from this FULLY OPERATIONAL combi-oven.

Benjamin: Ooh, accessories for yesterday’s table! And someone to eat at it while operating the turret.

Chris: Food by itself isn’t interesting, but who doesn’t need more LEGO food?

Edwinder: A healthy breakfast and two glasses of wine is the healthiest way to start a day at the Death Star. My psychiatrist says it helps to be a little drunk when pressing that red big button to blast planets to smithereens without guilt.

Continuing with Day 12, we have a roller skate ornament from Friends and a rocking chair, end table and lamp from City.

Dave: The city living room scene shows what you can convey with just seven pieces! And though the rocking chair is simple, those two dark red double inverted baby bows are quite rare, only just appearing in last year’s UCS Hulkbuster. Tan seats are fairly new as well, first appearing in Betrayal at Cloud City.

Alexander: This rocking chair design is very smart, but I would like it better if the open studs were covered with a tile.

Lino: “So…uh…do you get out much?”

Andrew: The old woman who lives in a shoe has a sweet new ride!

Matt: So a skate, a rocking chair and a lamp walk into a bar…

Daniel: You take a chair, see, and you put a curved slope in place of legs. Looks more like some kind of weird toboggan.

Benjamin: I wish that lamp was shaped like a fishnet-covered leg.

Chris: If I were six years old and opened these on Day 12, I’d be very disappointed.

Edwinder: If I were six and opened these on Day 12, I’d say to my sibling, “THESE ARE GREAT! YOU CAN HAVE THEM,  and whatever comes out TOMORROW IS MINE okay?”

Whenever we can, we’ll mash up all the LEGO advent calendar builds from that specific day and see what kind of hilarity ensues. Please enjoy these hijinks!

Dave: When I said I wanted your head on a silver platter, I didn’t mean it literally!

Lino: “Did I tell you about the time I blew up Alderaan? Hah! It was a blast!”

Matt: The time has come for awkward holiday dinner conversations.

Chris: How is this not a picture of the Death Star Gunner getting a pie in the face?

Edwinder: Wanna compare who had the most interesting day? Let me tell you about my day earlier where I found two right footed socks!
Hang on, let me tell you how I blasted 3 planets in the span of 7 hours … a new record for me… WHOO HUUU!!
I think we both need a sip of these excellent Jawa Juice.
