More LEGO Friends Summer 2019 sets revealed featuring an ocean of new cute animals, a lighthouse and more [News]

We revealed the first half of the upcoming LEGO Friends Summer 2019 wave yesterday, and today we have four more upcoming Friends sets showcasing an ocean theme packed with new animals like seahorses, baby turtles, fish and even a narwhal. Standouts sets in the Friends Ocean wave include a lighthouse, lifeboat and and a seabed floor full of life.

The sets were revealed by Dutch retailer MisterBricks. As with some of the other recently revealed sets, we don’t have the exact release date for these, but we are able to provide approximate US prices thanks to the Euro prices listed by the retailer.

OMG SOMEONE SHOVED A SHELL IN THAT POOR WHALE’S BLOWHOLE! No wonder they sent a giant yacht with a built-in vet clinic.

Also, baby dolphin, two new slide sections (I’m predicting a big creator water park ride in the next few years), a broken egg shell, and it looks like there will be a sea life accessory packet with a mini octopus, a starfish, a tropical fish, a sea horse, a scallop, and a sea snail. The new corral piece has been mentioned elsewhere, but can’t forget it.

The broken egg shell is actually Queen Watevra’s crown, but in white. Still super neat, though!

Neither of the slide pieces are new either (not even in yellow), but I’m board for a waterpark.

Yeah, what Chris said — the slide pieces both came out in 2017 and have appeared in lots of sets so far. Besides a waterpark, though, thinking about fairground applications for them now has me realizing that LEGO has never made a bouncy castle! Maybe I should think about trying to MOC something like that…

What IS new and interesting to me besides the stuff y’all mentioned is the new 1x6x6 window frame that appears with window panes in 41380 and without a window pane in 41376! That piece is an exciting new addition to the current system of windows and doors, and just begging for LEGO to introduce a set of french doors for it!

Also, Zobo now has a new head piece that’s more headgear-friendly. I love some of the new versions of Zobo in these sets like the one with a flipper and water wings or the one with a diving helmet and propeller!

Overall I’m really impressed with these sets! Gorgeous colors, creative play features and play scenarios (love the treasure chest that pops out of the shipwreck when you turn the ship’s wheel), and neat new outfits and animals.

Definitely tempted to get some of this stuff to help fill the aesthetic void in my LEGO wish list that Elves left behind…
