Today LEGO has unveiled a special pair of Christmas holiday BrickHeadz, 40274 Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The cheery duo are dressed in red and surrounded by holiday decorations, including presents and a Christmas Tree for good ol’ Santa, and fresh-baked cookies and a wreath for Mrs. Claus. The set is a two-pack, and it will be available Oct. 1 for $19.99 USD. The set has 341 pieces.
The Christmas set follows the special autumn holiday sets of 40272 Halloween Witch, available today, and 40273 Thanksgiving Turkey, available beginning Oct. 1.

It looks like Lego has really dropped the ball with the seasonal sets this year. No vignettes just ugly BrickHeadz, and those are so bad that they couldn’t even take the time to print individual calendar decals to represent the respective 2018 holiday. Instead there’s just a generic “Seasonal” decal. Between these and the fairly sad looking assortment of Advent calendars this year it looks like I’ll be saving some money for other things this year.
@Phathead: The main seasonal set for this year wouldn’t have been vignettes one way or the other — for the past several years LEGO has been alternating between vignettes in odd-numbered years and brick-built figures in even-numbered years.
Personally I think the seasonal BrickHeadz are not only cute but also really creatively built and a good value. And other AFOLs certainly seem to be responding better to them than to many of the less standardized and more exaggerated-looking brick-built seasonal figures released in 2014 and 2016, which a lot of AFOLs seemed to characterize as downright horrifying.
Oh my gosh, that turkey is adorable. For $10, I’m in for that one, we need more Thanksgiving decor/celebration!!!
