BrickCon 2017 is three weeks away [News]

BrickCon 2017 in Seattle is only three weeks away! The largest fan-organized convention for builders begins Thursday, Oct. 5 (for a full day!) and runs until Sunday, Oct. 8. The public is invited to come see everything on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10am to 3pm, at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.

A few reminders for builders:

Register yourself: If you are planning to attend and have not yet registered, you have one week left to register for $75. After Sept. 18, the cost goes up to $100. After Sept. 29, you will no longer be able to register online. And remember that Thursday is a full day of the conference this year!

Register your creations: Please register the LEGO builds you are bringing by Oct. 2. This is very important as it helps convention coordinators plan the display and ensure that your creations can be accommodated. Register them through this Google form, and remember that only paid attendees can display at BrickCon.

Sign up for games and sessions: BrickCon has some of the most fun games and enlightening speakers. If you are interested in participating in a game or attending a presentation, please add the specific session to your schedule on sched.org by Oct. 1. (When you registered for BrickCon, you should have received access to sched.org with your conference confirmation.) For games, names will be randomly drawn from each of those game sessions and you will be notified if you are an actual participant.

Get building: BrickCon starts in 25 days, so if you have things you’re working still on, you’re down to the wire! Build anything you want or use the conference theme “Brick to Old School” for inspiration.

The Brothers Brick at BrickCon: BrickCon is the “home” convention of The Brothers Brick and we’re excited to see faces both old and new there this October. This year, TBB will showcase a large display of the Battle of Scarriff from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Many builders from the Pacific Northwest have come together to build the large diorama, so don’t miss it, and come say hello to your favorite TBB writers!

Invite your friends and family: BrickCon hosts a Friends and Family Night, Friday, Oct. 6 from 8:30pm to 10pm. Attendees may invite their family and friends to the event at no charge. The only requirement is that the attendee must escort their visitors throughout the event. For everyone else, tickets to the public exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 are available now. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Biggest convention is a bit of a stretch with both BrickWorld Chicago and Brickfair Virginia outdoing Brickcon’s numbers in almost every way, especially in the “actually has space to display and enjoy yourself” department.
