Massive clearance sale from LEGO Shop@Home on 2009 LEGO sets [News]

The LEGO Shop online has updated its Sales & Deals page with nearly a hundred deeply discounted items, including most of the first wave of Power Miners sets, Racers, and Bionicle.

LEGO Shop at Home

We’ll update this post with more specifics soon, but wanted to let you all know as quickly as possible. (This probably means the official launch of the 2010 sets can’t be too far away.)

Actually most of the 2010 sets have already been listed. As for the sale…it’s disappointing to say the least. Most of the items on sale aren’t even sets, but rather accessories and other ancillary products. And the sales that are there are mediocre. Looks like I’m sticking to secondary markets. Thanks for the heads up though.

In the UK there are lots of nice sets reduced, but they are all sold out!
About 90 of the 195 sets on sale are sold out (and were sold out from the start of the sale)

I concur with Starwars4J…I’ve seen a lot of the Atlantis sets already at Toys R Us online and Toy Story and some new Star Wars at Target here in NYC (Queens) on the shelf for at least 3 weeks.
Any sale is good though. The Indiana Jones Jungle Cutter is $30bucks for 511 pieces so that’s a good deal and the Agents sets on sale are good bargains.
The real problem with the prices are for the Atlantis sets as well as the new Star Wars. You can justify the ‘license’ sets by saying it cost a lot to purchase the license but for the Atlantis sets…?….c’mon Lego. These are by far waaaaaaaay over the top. Like the Neptune Carrier should be $45bucks tops.

Hesitant to voice my secret, but most of those sets except for the most expensive ones can regularly be bought at 40% off MSRP at my local Borders stores with their frequent printable coupons. Makes this sale pretty meh for me.

Just picked up the Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser at Toys R Us for $79.99U.S yesterday. Check it out if they still have it on sale and if any other Lego’s are on sale.

Just to clarify, I got the Home One online at Toys R us dot com. It’s still on sale today but I couldn’t find any other Legos on sale.

At Target dot com, for kids, I see LEGO Ultimate Duplo Building Set 30% off, LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3) 10% off, and KidKraft 2-in-1 LEGO-Compatible Train Activity Table 25% off. That’s it unless over the next couple days things clear out.

Walmart dot com HAD LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon for $100bucks off but it sold out and had the Taj Mahal and the Grand Carousel on sale too but they’re gone…although they have all of these on sale and ‘rollback’ prices (nothing spectacular but worth a look)… Lego Rock Band (Wii), LEGO Star Wars – Darth Maul Kids’ Watch, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (Wii), Lego Star Wars – Obi Wan Kids’ Watch, LEGO Batman (Xbox 360), LEGO Star Wars – Storm Trooper Kids’ Watch, LEGO Batman (PSP), LEGO Star Wars – R2D2 Kids’ Watch, LEGO Batman (Wii), LEGO Star Wars – Han Solo Kids’ Watch, LEGO Batman (DS), LEGO Bionicle-Kid’s Watch, LEGO Star Wars – C3PO Kids’ Watch, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (PSP), LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (Xbox 360), LEGO City – Kids’ Watch, LEGO Batman (PS2), Lego Castle – Kids’ Watch, The Unofficial LEGO Builder’s Guide, LEGO Racers – Kids’ Watch, Forbidden Lego: Build the Models Your Parents Warned You Against!, PlayStation 2 Limited Edition LEGO Batman Bundle, Black, Lego Batman: The Videogame Strategy Guide [With Poster], LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (DS), The Lego Mindstorms NXT Idea Book: Design, Invent, and Build, Quest for the Tower [With Trading Cards], and LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (PS2).

I’d say keep looking…I thought Home One was only on sale like early Dec. (?) and I missed out ’cause they said it was outta’ stock. But it came ’round again so it’s worth checking into these stores every so often over the next couple weeks to see what they clear out. EXCELSIOR!
