Spice up your life with LEGO BrickHeadz 40548 Spice Girls Tribute [Review]

Let’s take a step back to 1996 – an innocent time when the world was full of boy bands, teen magazines, and MTV still played music videos. An unsuspecting world was informed in no uncertain terms what they really, really wanted: to zigazig-ah with the Spice Girls, courtesy of their first single, “Wannabe”. Since then, the Spice Girls have cemented themselves as a cultural phenomenon through music, movies, and, now, their very own LEGO BrickHeadz. Released as part of a trend of music-themed sets, like 21329 Fender Stratocaster Guitar and 31204 Elvis Presley Mosaic, the new Spice Girls Tribute BrickHeadz focus hit hard on mid-90s pop music nostalgia. But how does the set stack up against other BrickHeadz? Let’s dive in and take a look. 40548 Spice Girls Tribute will be available on March 1 from the LEGO Shop for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99.

LEGO BrickHeadz 40549 Demogorgon and Eleven – Get ready for some Stranger Things [Review]

Few characters sweep the world like “Eleven” from Stranger Things. Since its premiere in 2016, Millie Bobby Brown’s immensely quirky character has proven to be iconic in every season. Meanwhile, the feature creature of the first season inspired dread and fear in all of us. Hailing from the mysterious and grotesque “Upside Down” version of our own world, the “Demogorgon” made a perfect Eldritch beast for the beginning of the series. Despite the immediate success of the series, it’s surprising that LEGO took until the third season to release the award-winning set 75810 The Upside Down. With a summer 2022 release still possible for season 4, LEGO seems to be getting ahead of the hype with two new BrickHeadz. The LEGO BrickHeadz 40549 Demogorgon and Eleven will be available from the LEGO Shop (US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99) on February 1.

The LEGO BrickHeadz theme has continued to be a fan favorite over the years, with many of LEGO’s popular themes getting characters, from Star Wars, to Marvel, to Ninjago, and many other popular culture characters. LEGO builders have also been inspired to create their own creations in the BrickHeadz style. Hit Netflix series Squid Game staff get the BrickHeadz treatment

The Netflix show Squid Game, is insanely popular at the moment. In case you haven’t seen it, the show is a strange mix of Hunger Games and playground games, with a pinch of The Prisoner thrown in. The guards are all hidden behind masks bearing geometrical shapes also found on many video game controllers. moco zone has created BrickHeadz style models of these mysterious and somewhat inhuman seeming guards. Similar to the Squid Game players who all wear green tracksuits, the guards all wear pink hooded coveralls, and also like the players, are known only by their numbers, and their rank, as determined by the shape on their masks.

LEGO BrickHeadz Pets 40479 Dalmatian dog and 40480 Ginger Tabby cat [Review]

LEGO launched the Pets sub-theme for Brickheadz earlier this year. The sets are similar to a BrickHeadz buddy pack, in that there is one traditional-sized model and an accompanying buddy-size model. The difference is that the Pets line pairs an adult and child of the same species. They started with dogs and cats (40440 German Shepherd and 40441 Shorthair Cat) but quickly branched out to birds and fish (40442 Goldfish and 40443 Budgie). 40479 Dalmatian & Puppy, and 40480 Ginger Tabby & Kitten are the latest to join the German shepherd and Shorthair cat sets in the ongoing battle between dog people and cat people. 40479 includes 252 pieces and is available now for $14.99 US | $19.99 CA| £13.49 UK . 40480 includes 269 pieces and will be available starting August 1 for US $14.99 US | $19.99 CA | £13.49 UK.
