Master Chief gets active camo in the February BrickForge promo

For the month of February, BrickForge is giving away an exclusive Trans-Clear Space Marine Armor Set on any order totaling $25 or more. You can see it in the imminent assassination of this Halo Jackal built by Kyle (Armothe).

Largest LEGO Yoshi

Dirk VH’s latest sculptures is an 80cm tall Yoshi that took 60 hours to complete. This model posed a challenge of balancing the T. rex-like pose. You can see the construction journal and pictures on Facebook.

Meanwhile, be sure to check out the construction movie:

Starcraft Battlecruiser Titow

Jarek’s Starcraft Battlecruiser ranks among one of the best I’ve seen. This is his biggest creation to date, taking a month to complete. The model features Jarek’s smooth yet textured building style, rendering the ship true to the original.

TBB chats with Carl Greatrix, LEGO model designer for TT Games [Interview]

Anyone following Carl Greatrix on Flickr will have noticed he has recently been posting pictures of his builds for the LEGO Indiana Jones 2 game created by TT Games. These offer a fascinating insight into the special job of building LEGO models for games. We’d like to thank Carl and his employers for talking to [...]

LEGO Harry Potter game trailer shows cutscenes but little gameplay [News]

TT Games has released a trailer for their upcoming LEGO Harry Potter video game. It doesn’t show a lot of gameplay footage, but reveals the studio’s signature humor.

Vinnidan Interceptor

One thing I really like about the Homeworld universe is that it inspires a lot of great LEGO creations, all with a unifying aesthetic (stripes!), but that also provides builders with enough flexibility to add their unique touches of their own. Kurt Vinnedge (vìnn) gives the Taiidan his own spin, resulting in the Vinnidan Interceptor:

Arpy has Pac-Man fever

Did you know that the red ghost in Pac-Man was named “Blinky”?
Ean (Arpy) knew that, and built a lovely mosaic using Technic pins axles instead of bricks.

Wakka wakka wakka!

Another Vic Viper

I’m sure I’m going to have to do a round-up post at the end of the month with all my favorite Vic Vipers. In the meantime, I couldn’t resist posting one that I just saw.
Stefan (Brainbikerider) has a pretty different take on the Vic Viper shape. His ship is a lot less pointy [...]

LEGO NES

Dave Sterling takes you to the past of video-gaming with the brick-built replica of the Nintendo Entertainment System. If you don’t look closely, you might think Dave was actually playing on a real NES!

Vic Vipers Everywhere!

The good folks in the LEGO Starfighters group on Flickr have started a new Novvember. That means that many people are building Vic Vipers, inspired by the game Gradius, all month long.
I’m digging the one below by legodrome, and I’m sure there will be many more nice fighters to come. I [...]

How much would you pay for a 6 ft tall Mario?

Dirk VH, a part-time LEGO sculptor, has built the world’s biggest LEGO Mario and is auctioning it off for charity on Ebay. The 40,000 bricks that make up this model weighs a whopping 110 pounds! How many mushrooms did you pick up Mario?

LEGO Rock Band CubeDude has a green mohawk and regrettable tattoos

Ryan Wood (lights) rocks. Also, he built a CubeDude, which also rocks.

I love the tattoos on his arm, and how he’s holding the whammy bar.
Speaking of LEGO Rock Band, the video game is due out next month, and the full track list has been announced. (I’ve been avoiding dedicating a whole post to this. Sorry [...]

Red Zephyr

Is the Crimson Skies fad coming back? If the Red Zephyr by Jonhall18 is the start of the comeback, sign me up.
This plane has a great feel of bulk in all the right places. I like the airfoil shape of the wings, and the bubble up at the front of the fuselage adds [...]

LEGO bricks are good for building 8-bit graphics

Marcos Bessa also built a scene from Megaman in 3D. The combination of studs in different directions works out well, but I think the waterfall would look better if it were built with plates placed sideways (at the same time costing much more). Overall, this is an interesting creation; check out the gallery to see [...]

Obscurance’s M808B Grizzly tank

I finally bought an Xbox 360, and not having an original Xbox either, I’m catching up on about eight years of games. And you know what? Halo doesn’t suck (though I could do without the chorus of 11-year-old fanboys).
Stephen Chao (obscurance) demonstrates that LEGO Halo creations can be pretty cool too, with this great [...]
