The Brothers Brick

I’m loving sense of urgency in the this diorama by zgrredek. It has that wacky, silent movie feel. Almost the Keystone Cops turned fireman.

Those horses are swell, as well:

Lino Martins is a great guy. But he’s even better when he’s rendered in Miniland scale. Sporting his trademark goatee, Lino poses with Passion, built for the “Color Me Strange” Challange on LUGNuts.

Russian LEGO fan (and fellow LEGO Ambassador) Danila Dandily Martyakhin has posted a gorgeous bumper car diorama.

Alex Eylar (Flickr) has built a series of scenes that reinterpret Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland with a decidedly modern twist.
Here’s the quote on which the scene above is based:
She was considering in her own mind whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, [...]

Check out this peaceful lighthouse scene that has a classic-town theme feel to it created by Matija Grguric (the builder who brought you Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye). Take note of the incorporation of this raised baseplate into the creation.

Jarek’s nifty power loader model looks like it can handle some serious weight-lifting with those powerful looking arms. Far from clumsy, a creation like this takes some skilled and nimble craftsmanship with the brick, something that Jarek has mastered well. Check out the gallery for more pictures and in-action shots.

I’m breaking an old rule and a brand new one here. Brothers Brick debutante Heather (Flickr) shows the boys how to do it with her super detailed Doll’s House. In break from tradition I borrowed its name for the blog post because, quite frankly, it’s awesome.

A good diorama always impresses me and this is a fine example. The members of LugPol (the Polish LUG) have combined forces to present a beautifully integrated display at the Museum of Toys in Kielce. Karwik’s (Noddy) photos provide both overviews and close-ups of the details making me even more disappointed I couldn’t be there.

In Kristian’s imagination, aliens are rather clumsy while landing their flying saucers and aren’t especially known for their hygiene:

Erik “Eti” Smit has built a faithful recreation of various locations in the world of Pippi Longstocking, including Pippi’s house, Villa Villekulla.
The two-story house has a porch (with a horse on it), lemonade tree, swing set, and detailed interior with a kitchen and bedroom.
Other locations in Pippi’s world include her father’s ship in the harbor, [...]

Or does he? Andrew takes the current Nascar fad and turns it on its head. This makes it a lot more interesting in my book…
