LEGO Technic steering wheel for iPhone games

With two posts bashing the iPhone today, I figured I’d balance things out (beyond writing all my posts on a MacBook) by highlighting something pretty cool that made the rounds of the interwebs a couple weeks ago. Ladies and gentlemen, behold the itty-bitty steering wheel for iPhone games: Via Cult of Mac. Now, we normally Continue reading →

Amazing A380

(link goes to creator’s Eurobricks post) It’s taken me a while but I’ve finally managed to get the review up for Ryan McNaught’s excellent A380 model as debuted at Brickvention last weekend. While the sculpting and other building techniques are highly impressive they are only the wrapping on this excellent model. Firstly it also includes Continue reading →

Fully motorized 1:17 Liebherr L 580 wheel loader

I always love LEGO Technic creations that look like they’re built from SYSTEM components, but turn out to have lots of functionality. This Liebherr L580 Marek Markiewicz is an excellent example of SYSTEM aesthetics combined with Technic capabilities. Watch the video to see this vehicle in action. For all the technical details, check out the Continue reading →

We love the Furry Freak brothers…

Warning! This model is 100% LEGO. Dmac has combined practicality and raw beauty into his DT-75 tractor making a truly impressive beast. That plush seat looks so comfy I’d like to shrink myself to scale and relax.

LEGO Technic pin remover

If you’re a builder, you most likely have run into situations when you got one of these Technic pins stuck. Luckily, barman has a solution that may save you a broken fingernail or two. In this simple little device, the exposed end of the pin is inserted into a Technic brick and held in place Continue reading →

Catherine’s table saw is ready to sever LEGO fingers

One of the coolest LEGO creations I saw at the most recent SEALUG meeting was this great table saw by Catherine (Lego Queen). The wheels change the angle and elevation of the blade, while the rip fence slides back and forth. I suspect there’s enough room underneath for a Power Functions motor. Hmmm… Check out Continue reading →

Ottomatic

Speaking of branching out, Cameron (Primus) temporarily set aside his Bionicle to build this great robot from Technic gears. Apparently Cameron was challenged to build something “non-spindly.” Otto turned out rather formidable indeed.

2009 LEGO Technic Rally

The idea of rolling around our creations in the dirt is anathema to most of us LEGO SYSTEM builders. Not so a group of LEGO Technic engineers who gathered in Prague last month for the 2009 LEGO Technic Rally. I was rooting for this Tatra by Nikolas Tepper. Read more about this event on TechnicBRICKs.

World Record attempt in Perth

We know that Perth is a little far away from just about all of us but for the few readers living in the great West we have a treat from the Perth Adult LEGO Society. Please head along if you’re in the region. World Record Lego Bridge Attempt The Perth Adult Lego Society (PALS) will Continue reading →

Jaw-dropping LEGO Pirates movie made with MINDSTORMS NXT

Nearly all LEGO movies we feature here on The Brothers Brick are animated with stop-motion. NeXTSTORM has instead programmed a LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT brick for every single element of motion in this LEGO Pirates movie. Awesome tip, Dylan!

Walking Steampunk Mecha

Matt Hamann (Jaster) has built an adorable steampunk walker. It’s a six-legged tank, that would be a pretty decent creation, if it weren’t for one thing… it can walk! He’s motorized it, and it sort of toddles along the table. Check out the video. I just love the way it clomps around, it’s like a Continue reading →

Awesome working Technic forklift

Sebastiaan Arts has built a working forklift using the LEGO power functions system. He’s used the infrared remote control to allow him to both drive and steer the forklift. Not only can he drive it with the remote, though, he can raise and lower the fork! Make sure you check out the video of it Continue reading →

Terex RH400

Okay, this thing is enormous. The Terex RH400 is the biggest, baddest hydraulic power shovel in the world. The Lego version by Zbiczasty is no light-weight either. Thanks to Leif Michelsen for the heads up.

One-Wheeled Goodness

Its not often that I come across something truly unique. This wheelbarrow by Nolnet is definitely that. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Now I want one full-size. Hey Nolnet, can you get on that?

Renders by Ernesto

It seems like many were impressed with the Dimitri’s render of the Mammoth Tank. Just now I stumbled upon a Flickr user, Ernesto Carrillo, who has a set of amazing digital renders of LEGO Technic models. Check them out:
