Rhinoceros beetle man-type minifigish sort of thing…

I just gotta make me one o’ these!

Moko, you never cease to amaze (and induce bouts of execrable grammar).

Ghost Rider by Jared Burks and Emily Brownlow

Jared Burks (aka “Kaminoan”) and Emily Brownlow (aka “RecluceMage”) are best known for their minifig customization work — waterslide decals and resin-cast accessories, respectively.
This is what you get when these two work together:

Awesome.

My favorites…

Favorites from the Eurobricks Superhero Contest

Okay, so today is all about Eurobricks. As I blogged a week or so ago, Eurobricks is hosting a superhero contest. I entered Unit Zero One (with a beefed-up origin story).
The entries thread is closed and voting has begun, but I thought I’d highlight a few of my personal favorites (in no particular order).

7783 Batcave Review on American Comics Lego Archive

I profiled Japanese blogger xeuren’s American Comics Lego Archive over on PPB late last year. Xeuren recently posted a nice photo review of 7783 Batcave. Perhaps I’ve missed a review in English elsewhere, but xeuren’s review includes several great pictures of the new set, including the new minifigs:

The set also includes Batman and a [...]

To the minimobile, Robin!

Sir Nelson has built a nifty mini batmobile:
Using one of the strange little racer bodies, Nelson has created a masterpiece! Instantly recognizable as the world famous super car, this mini version is awesome, way to go Nelson!

Arkham Asylum?!

Apparently I’ve been living in a cave. I thought 7783Batcave was the next large set LEGO would be releasing. (Incidentally, it’s been showing up in stores a couple months early.) Well, crawling out of my hole, I see that LEGO employee Steve Witt has posted box art and the minifigs from an upcoming 7785 Arkham [...]

Superman. Meh.

“Meh” pretty much sums up my current feelings toward Superman. Smallville has been less than entertaining for a couple seasons now, I’m not especially stoked about the upcoming movie, and then there’s this. So, Superman = “Meh.”
In that spirit, here’s my Superman minifig, about which I feel pretty “Meh” (he’s missing something fairly important, after [...]

Moko’s Little Sister Gets in on the Action

Apparently, great minifig-building runs in Moko’s family. Here’s a little “Demon Child” Moko’s little sister put together:

Oh, and check out this cool gun Moko himself made recently:

Both of these show great uses for the new pieces in the Batman sets.

Izzo’s Power Suits

Izzo doesn’t just build great vignettes — he’s also quite the mecha builder. Lately he’s been on a power-suit-building kick:

Here’s my favorite, a Batsuit:

(By the way, in addition to his legostyle Web site, Izzo has a new blog, legostyle-LOG. If you want automatic updates of his latest creations, be sure to subscribe to his feed.)
