Aaron rocks their world
Aaron Andrews has been working on a fun series of pirate creations, populated by a hapless band of buccaneers. In his latest, he sends them down a lava tube. I don’t know if they’re going to make it out of this one alive!

Most builders use the pre-molded ship pieces when building their galleons, schooners, and clippers.
Never one to take the easy way out, Aaron Andrews has used bricks and tiles to build the hull of his pirate ship, The Black Meg:

I’m really liking all the new pirate creations lately, inspired no doubt by Forbidden Cove and the possibility of a new official LEGO Pirates theme in 2009.
Daniel Z (DNL on Flickr) gets in on the pirate action with this very vertical creation that’s definitely worth the scroll:
It’s always a pleasure when I can feature a cool new LEGO creation by one of our longtime readers. RichardAM (Flickr) has been a regular here for a very long time, and I just love his latest pirate diorama.
In “Imperial Outpost,” a small group of pirates attempts to wreak havoc on some unsuspecting guards:
I especially […]
Forbidden Cove has launched the site’s first contest!
Christened the “Castaway Contest“, the premise is to build the abode of a long-stranded survivor. So bust out those fabulous building skills and show them what you can do!
There is some sweet pirate booty up for grabs as well:
First Place: #6265 Sabre Island
Second Place: #6260 Shipwreck […]
Inspired by the recent debut of Forbidden Cove forums, Chris Malloy has posted an incredible redo of the classic pirate set Lagoon Lockup. Chris tried to use modern building techniques while remaining true to the original. I think he succeeded and I certainly hope this talented builder continues with more Pirate Overhauls.
Ahoy, LEGO Pirate fans!!!
Today, I’m very pleased to add ForbiddenCove.com to the list of LEGO communities in the sidebar. Forbidden Cove is a brand new LEGO fan community dedicated to LEGO Pirates.
Here’s what the Forbidden Cove staff have to say about “The Cove”:
The Classic-Castle.com staff, in conjunction with a few prominent members, have developed […]
Aaron “DARKspawn Andrews tosses a bunch of brave LEGO pirates at a fish monster in “Captain Pete never backed away from a challenge”:
While we’re at it, Jordan “SirNadroj” Schwartz pits “Nom the Sharkey” against an ill-fated deck hand:
I’m extremely pleased to announce that Keith Goldman has joined The Brothers Brick as our resident Columnist.
Keith is one of those LEGO fans of near-mythical proportions. Having met Keith in person, I can report that he stands nine feet four inches tall (that’s twelve meters for you Canadians), and is able to levitate his […]
SlyOwl’s latest creation combines two of my favorite themes into one sweet little ship. Crammed with all the fun details we have come to expect from this builder, this pirate ship sets off on its quest to plunder the Steampunk world!
Well, you can’t forget that with this incredible bust by Craig Stevens
He’s done another captain too!
SlyOwl shows what happens when a group of islanders take up arms to fight off a raiding gang of unruly pirates:
Check out the action in the lower left corner. Bubbles!

SlyOwl from Eurobricks presents Nassau Port, full of action and humorous details (see the descriptions here). The most amazing detail is the straw roof, made with minifig hands.
The wonderful little scene above, featuring William “Bill” Bones, caught my eye recently on The Brick Time blog, so I went a few posts back and discovered a very cool diorama of the Admiral Benbow Inn — the inn where Jim Hawkins lives in Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island.

…equals the VX-999 - Space Pirate Lair! Dennis Coh emerges out of his year-long building hiatus and presents an innovative cross-genre creation depicting a pirate’s hideout.
Note the ship near the docking port - it is a micro version of Dennis’ Izanami’s Revenge pirate ship. We look forward to more great works from you!
Well, I do. I love 7036 Dwarves’ Mine! It may in fact be my favorite LEGO set in several years.
It’s got great play features that had me running over and showing my wife as I built the set, and as I discovered each new piece, I kept thinking about how I could use them […]
Mike Yoder’s pirate fleet is growing — in more ways than one! Starting with the smallest ship on the left, Mike has increased the size of his vehicles with each new ship. My favorite is his newest — the big one in the middle.
And I love the crew:
