Vintage Photo of Yoda discovered!

This rare vintage photo shows Yoda during his brief stint with the French Foreign Legion. Prior to hiding away on Dagobah, Yoda thought that the deserts of Algeria might be a good place to lose himself. The hot weather, ill-fitting clothes, and hazing by the other soldiers, made him decide to explore other options. He Continue reading →

The Lictor

The Lictor has arrived to guard the alien fleet. The armored carapace of the ship protects the sensitive components that lie beneath, waiting to unleash their power. This one has been sitting on my build table 90% complete for months, but I finally got around to posting it. I also took the photos of this Continue reading →

Prototype Attack Mech Alpha Zero

The Galactic Inquisition has been busy since the events on planet Cornucopia. Here’s a new mech prototype using technology reverse engineered from the captured alien vessel. The design for this mech was partially inspired by this drawing. It’s my own interpretation, of course, but I really liked the bulky, overly armored feel from the drawing. Continue reading →

LEGO Alien Back-story Comic

Ever since I started posting my various tan alien creations, people have been asking more background on the aliens and the creations. I’ve finally gotten around to making one up, and telling it. I tried something new, and have created a comic describing illustrating the initial encounters between the aliens and the Galactic Inquisition. It’s Continue reading →

April Fools: I like cars.

So much so, in fact, that I recently built one. It’s been so popular, that I’ve decided not to build anything but cars anymore. Since I’m still admin on classic-space.com, I’m going to convert the forums to be all about LEGO car creations. There will be emphasis on classic cars, and on trunk space. I’m Continue reading →

My Neo-Classic-Space Contribution

Set 6951, the Robot Command Center was my absolute favorite Classic Space set (of the sets I actually had) when I was growing up. When the opportunity came up to create a Neo Classic Space creation, my mind immediately went to this set. It was basically a mecha, except that the legs didn’t move at Continue reading →

News Channel 3 Chopper

I wasn’t planning to blog any of my contributions to Keith’s big diorama independently here. Then someone told me that they thought my helicopter was the best thing I’d ever built. I thought that in that case, maybe I should post it, in case I never match it again. I hope other people like it Continue reading →

Keith Goldman builds a community affair: Zero Hour on Highway 44

Keith Goldman‘s latest diorama is a true community effort. He has recruited help from twenty other builders in the LEGO community to help him populate his massive highway scene. Moreover, he recruited each contributor in secret, giving each contributor a code name ala Reservoir Dogs. Keith has called it a star-studded affair, and given me Continue reading →

Attacking LEGO brushfires with my Wildland Ultra XT fire engine

The fire engine I built last year was mainly inspired by other LEGO builders, so I wanted to design something from scratch on my own. Here’s the result: My brother sent me a link to the S&S Fire Apparatus Co’s awesome Wildland Ultra XT, and I just had to build this amazing vehicle — used Continue reading →

I just can’t stop building alien stuff

My latest is an interplanetary probe. I wanted to stick with the mix of angles from equilateral triangles and more simple bilateral symmetry at a smaller scale than many of the other creations in the theme. I also wanted to do something a little bit different with the engines.

Sometimes I even build myself

This weekend was one of those times. I built two new creations to add to my alien emissary’s fleet. I built a small flying probe, intended to be similar to a larger one that I’ve already built, as well as hexapodal robot. I also tried something new with the photography, and used HDR techniques to Continue reading →

Jumper crafts Phobos and Deimos

My latest space creation goes small for SCI-LUG‘s recently ended Small Starfighter contest. Like several of the entrants, I’ve come up with a transforming design that capitalizes on the symmetrical quality of the bubble cockpit to include the third form of an atmospheric flight configuration. What astonds me the most is the explosive magnitude of Continue reading →

My LEGO fire engine is ready to be apocafied

I’d always admired the great fire engines by Steven Asbury and Ralph Savelsberg, so when I built a fire house for Zombie Apocafest 2008, I knew I needed a fire engine like theirs. The fire engine seats four and includes various compartments for their equipment. See more photos on MOCpages or Flickr.

A horror to end the year with

My final project of 2008 entails a sixteen square feet diorama depicting the theme that I know best: horror. In a Russian World War 2 setting, a collossal alien artifact which I refer to as the Black Fantasy Column towers from the ground, spreading darkness along with an invasion of Cyclopean Virtues across the landscape, Continue reading →

Aurora spacefighter

It has been a long time since I designed and built a spaceship, but I’m glad I haven’t become rusty. My newest creation is called the Aurora, arisen from attempts to achieve an unusual shape with bley pieces. There are two shooting cannon parts that really go “pew pew”, so beware, the Aurora is coming Continue reading →
